I thought the Ops team at Smuggs did an excellent job. The delayed opening as they waited for temps to drop before grooming which lead to a decent surface. The Alley was more edgable today than last weekend.

Lines at worst were only 2-3 deep and several laps I skied right on the chair.

Agree with Peruvian, for what it could have been, it turned out real nice. Running laps on the alley was fun. No lines to speak of besides the occasional wave of club kids. Thanks Mtn Ops!

Guess my decision to go for a bike ride instead of skiing $teaux was well founded.
Trails on north facing slopes were frozen solid enough to ride like mid summer.

At least it was sunny. Titanium made the day enjoyable but it was pretty nasty. Click image for larger version.

Didn't take BD long to steal Altai Hok skis idea.

They’re just now catching up to Karhu’s Metaskis (later branded for LL Bean).

10 years too late to be innovative.

BD bought the Finnish company (ONE or something??) about 4-5 years ago. You can beat the shit out of those skis and they still slide.

Lots of fun, very little originality.

I saw those in the Lebanon NH EMS Store yesterday in case anyone wants to fondle them.
I think you need snow on the ground for them to work.

    Really?

    Give me some dates.

    They are 2009...which I didn't know.
    https://altaiskis.com/about-us/the-company/

I can't find Karhu info but this article is 2011.

The Altai guys worked in the industry, so I wonder if they worked for Karhu.

Somebody stole something...and it's definitely BD and one other.

East Coast Roll Call 21-22 We have a hot date with Skadi, Pictures at 11

Karhu was testing the skishoe/snowskin thing way back in 2005 or 6. I remember seeing Charlie Lozner with them at an event and thinking they would never be fun.

I didn’t think they ever made it to production, but my memory of those days is a bit foggy.

Yeah, these guys have to be connected to Karhu in some way.

"We both had extensive experience in the ski industry and had worked together designing nordic and backcountry skis for over ten years"

Down the rabbit hole...did not know this - "Karhu is renowned for having implemented the three stripes trademark,[3] which was then sold to German company Adidas in 1952"
