Today’s cool find. Anybody know the history behind this hand drawn and colored sign? I believe it’s from the early to mid 70s.

Why don’t you just give rick or mike a call and ask them?

Weekend at Huntah was sunny and warm keeping most of the ice at bay. The locals did what they could to scrape everything to the edges and get down to that hard, scratchy center. Sides of the trails were fun for ‘early’ turns. Joey and Tony dropped a bunch of snow sodas all over the hill for me. Click image for larger version.

Indoor employees are masked but no one else is. Probably because masks aren’t required while eating or drinking. Click image for larger version.

Afternoon meeting cancelled at 9 AM today. Got to Gore before noon. Never checked the forcast as I was on work calls the whole way up. Let's just say it was wet with limited Vis.

That said it skied pretty well. Gondola attendant told me I actually made back to back gondola trips with no one else in between.

Looking good nihiles but I think you needed another Red Bull to offset the beers. You still sporting that mixed flask?

Yesterday morning revealed 5/8" of snow followed by a 1/8" glaze of ice. Melted as the temp rose during the mostly rainless day. BIG wind started around 4pm with rain soon following. Windows were jet washed by heavy wind driven rain at 7. Woke to clear skies and another 5/8" of snow in the yard bob. Didn't lose all of the natural snow on the trails, so that is good. But likely some skittery skiing to be had today.

I saved the Red Bull for when I find some vodka. I’ve outgrown the mixer flask, this weekend it was just Angel’s Envy -which really offset all the crap beers I endured.

Spent the night at Kmart and experienced pretty much the same weather. Since I’m not expecting anything good heading to Stratton just for drive home convenience. Click image for larger version.

Everyone please get a car wash and remove snow tires.

I will be at sugarbush solo this weekend during the day. Anyone want to make some turns?
Also if anyone is actually good at tele I would bring that stuff and be open to pointers.
Should I bring my Mountain bike?
    I <heart> hot tele-moms

Turns out it was a good plan. Had no idea nihiles was there but Stratton did an incredible recovery. They basically topcoated all open trails with some manmade and then groomed it in. Limited terrain at the start but we somehow managed to be on the right lift cycle to be there every time they dropped a rope. Not quite like a pow rope drop but the surface was remarkable given the weather over the last 24 hours.

Skiing is fun and Stratton doesn't suck nearly as bad on weekdays.

Nihiles are u on a snowboard now? I think sliding on snow at most places mid week beats a sat and sun anyday. Glad to read that peeps are getting out regardless of the less than stellar conditions. Nothing beats sliding on snow.
