Ugh another VailFail. No thanks. I love the Cat but haven’t set foot since Vail took over. Looks like I am making the right decision.

I can confirm I skinned up Magic today. For the first time in two seasons I skinned up Magic Carpet to Wand and enjoyed the views and high fives along the way, it was glorious. The opening of on trail uphill on a weekend looked like it was a typo in the snow report, but I will take it.

Never been to Crotched but night skiing after 5" of fresh sounded like an appealing Friday night, so off we went. Little bit scratched off in a few spots, but legit pow turns were had and pow bumps galore made for probably the best day (night) of the season so far.

Sweet view from the windows bob! One chair not on winhold with Gatehouse broken again. Wind noise interfering with my movie.

Today was more typical winter. Sleeting. Wind hold. Skinned up t'brook and down the refrozen Cord on Cannon which was a filling loosener.

I'm keeping an eye on the snow stake. What do you think it needs to read to do a tour like we did with @Peruvian ?

I think another 10-12 and we are good to go.

Or we could ski something less known and more fun.

Hoping to spend a fair amount if time in the Whites at the end of Feb. maybe a mini meet up??

With all the lift drama I'm surprised the Cat failure only got one posting - in case someone wants to read the story

It's "passable", the section under the chair has an inch or so of various frozen particles mixed with dirt and a variety of rocks, Staying high on the grass is advised, first corner has the usual ice flow making it sporty, inch or so to the bridge corner mixed with pebbles. That's my stop so no idea how it is lower down. I walked it today to save edges for future use.

Popped out by the bridge yesterday after a hike in the woods and snapped a picture of the trail just before the bridge. The sound of the skis hitting the pebbles was priceless from 5 feet away.

Conditions proved to be nice late day, went out after GH opened, rain stopped and wind calmed to reasonable.

Dug into the quivers, should have done this earlier, and broke out a different breed of Cat

Nice, surprisingly sandy surface with little traffic to carve up. A bit of odd ice castle stuff here and there

Good day at Pats Peak. Comfortable temps and good surface with just a little wet falling. Kid brought out the new mono.

Mad props to Buttah & crew for some wicked good tunes on old AF skis. Only have single day this year on newer skis, but these did just fine yesterday.
