I think the Trak Bushwhacker dates back to the mid-80’s at least. They were short, wide, metal edged, fishscale base backcountry skis and I remember beating the hell out of them in my backyard as a teen.
I still call these hybrid ski-shoe type contraptions Bushwhackers out of habit.

Anyone in the 25.5-27.5 range in the market for boots?
Have a good non-mag friend looking to sell, figured I'd check here first before posting jn Gear thread. PM me
Atomic backland ultimate (26.5) ($500) Scarpa F1 LT (25.5) ($400) -- both are new and unused
Dynafit TLT (27.5 - $250 used handful of times, short tours)
Local handoff in Waterbury/etc
Hoping it'll snow soon - all hail Ullr!

Speaking of boot swaps, my brother is selling pairs of Maestrale 26.5 and Freedoms 27.0 (with both sole blocks) in great shape.
And, I am looking to help a buddy pick up a pair of tele boots; any vintage scarpa 26.0 or equivalent would be excellent.j'ai des grands instants de lucididididididididi

A guy I know is spending the winter out in Tahoe. They’ve been getting dumped on this week. He texted me this pic of his buddy in the BC near Boreal.
Please don’t hate me for posting this!

^^I did a few laps there last night, the snow was skiing well and not too icy. The racers training thought I was nuts for lapping the sides of their course but hey, it was skiing.

Looks like old Les Otten has found his funding. Balsams up and running in 2 years? Believe it when I see it.

May hit Killington tomorrow. What's the probability its an ice rink? Not dropping below freezing tonight, and high of 40 tomorrow, but really windy.

Holy shit the skinning was sketchy this am. Watched a guy slide for about a minute down nosedive at stowe.
Sunrise and freshly tilled cord was the prize for summiting.

Spotted a crew from Prinoth unloading a demo Cat yesterday on the way to work. Teh "Caddy" of cats, wonder if they'll switch?
Couple three hours of work and it was off to the races. Fucking Brownsville at the moment, last of the road frost by the house left today.
L Jester looking grim, A run down an ungroomed, but open on Sunday, Domino Chute/Upper L Organgrinder provided a shitty surface of snowmaker footprints, old high ski tracks and a few weird old lines. Zero relaxing, every turn counted.
Lower half of Lower OG was groomed and much better.
Spring patch skiing on Ripcord looked intriguing.
Excavators hate climbing over rocks with mud under the tracks. Use the stick to lift the track over the rock FFS! This will be a spot to avoid later this winter.
Cloud formations were awful nice to the East, settled in to spin ten laps on Ripcord. Little thin in the one spot but wall to wall soft snow everywhere else.
Seemed like April 1st at times.
Unfortunately the spraying started.
Three Sky Rippers from the VTANG quiver looped the ridge which preceded a darker flow of clouds.
Steady flow of leaves over Fling as I skied down seemed out of place
Couple chair stickas'
Headed home after 20k to find GH down again. Bummer
Village was loading, so home I went
Overall pretty grim with the holidays coming. Downspout has bare spots and is really thin, Jester not much better. It's going to take pretty much all of the production to finish/resurface what is open or started until the 24th at least. Snorth only has North Star/Mainstream/Staightshot for opening tomorrow[delayed from today].
Burn some skis, stab a needle in a voodoo doll or anything you think could bring some snow. Or just work and wait for the snow to fall...
