Looks like Massif du Charlevoix is still lined up for 30" with no sleet or ice, i hope someone is putting rubber on the road today to get after it.

I was going to and then family stuff got in the way. I hope some mag gets it!

That being said the forecast has downgraded from some 37" to 22" now. Six plus hour drive each way is a lot for one day for pow.

I drove up this past weekend, after they got about 40cm. I had never been...pretty sweet place. Nice sidecountry stuff, and great groomers. Was finding fairly untracked skiing all throughout the weekend. I bet after this next storm, they'd be out of control good.

    Sparkle motion FTW! TRUTH.

That is West. Stayed home to ride our ice track before the thaw and downpour (beginning as I type this reply.) The quebec forecast also had a little bit too much iffy for the six plus hour drive. Cashing a lot of chips in with my wife this season for heli this spring and all the 'mandatory' skiing to train.

The new GS skis are wicked fun on empty slopes even with the factory 2 and 1 tune. Dropped them off today for a 3 and 0.5 then the real fun begins. Try them when your up here next.

Such a crazy hike on that ridge line, sorry that I didn't make it out to eagle this time.

Indeed we did eat like royalty! Our friends from Ottawa set the bar high right off the bat with a seafood paella. Maine brought the ruckus with the home made chilly, corn bread, borscht, and killer deserts.

Sorry to hear about the lost skis, was that at M de Charlevoix? Seems like the kind of fancy place where skis would be less likely to be stolen.

Next time we will make more turns. Sure was great seeing you get first run down the tube on our last run. Big powder spray turns the whole way

appreciate it. I told the resort, yes. They were Volkl Deacon Pro 76...awesome ski for firm days of just laying trenches. Bummer, but they were on third season and can be replaced with something else.

That's awesome! Glad you got some. I'm bummed I didn't go; however, ultimately better I stayed home.

Did you need skins for the sidecountry or could you get back to the lift without?

Random ? Does anyone in Central Vermont have broken/dead lighter side AT boots the significant other is claiming you need to toss? Looking to pull some cuffs, tongues, walk mechanisms to build/ a Frankenstein boot.

Question. Is that a real Mexican Turkey Sausage or a Sears Turkey Sausage? I'll hang up (again) and listen to you discuss. But FKNA! That looks fucking fantastic. Nowhere near as good as Benny's stoke, of course, but still appreciated

Too cold and too much fun to take many pictures. Price of face shots for one was a large patch of frost nip on the face.

Here are some photos we did take

Lots of people had their skins, but imo, totally not necessary. I booted them ~ five runs a day with skis on my shoulder and straight alpine boots. I'd say took 15 minutes. Well packed out hike; takes you right back to the lifts. Take that with a grain of salt though- I'm used to touring in the Adirondacks, where anything under a three mile approach feels short.

The first couple shots were a very good pitch and what I enjoyed most. Almost no one seemed to be skiing them - I'm guessing because they wanted to go farther and get a "proper tour." Those first couple shots were fairly untracked through Sunday afternoon. IMO, they kinda skied like a cross between Paradise and Big Jay. Steep and fairly open. The other zones were good too...longer, more meandering, mellow glades. Honestly, the groomers there rocked too.

Looking back, I would have taken a couple hours off work on Friday and left sooner. Stayed in Quebec City friday night. Also would have locked up my skis! It's a big drive, but overall was a great experience.
