^^^ Both of you are good peeps and when you rule out the asshats, the world does become pretty small.

I hope he gets his Westy running and comes up to the Phish show.

Wow. That's something. I thought there was plenty of housing around there already. Is there a demand for something like that?

My initial thought is that most of Killington's high end real estate is far from the skiing (with the exception of some of the Bear Peak developments). This will bring in the big spenders. To me Killington never seemed to have the wealth that Stratton does. This should change that with ski in/out housing which is in great demand but short supply at K.

I like the East Road round-a-bout, that intersection is currently poorly designed especially coming from East RD.

I guess it’s just me. I would much rather have one of those big houses back in the woods under the Skyeship. Even if it’s only ski in/out for three months out of the season.

Agreed but there is a significant portion of the money class MNIAW refers to that want walk to amenities ala Stratton Village, Jackson Gore, Spruce Peak, etc

Anyone looking for a camping and car racing mashup, the New England Forest Rally is this weekend, Friday and Saturday, based at Sunday River. Go to the middle of nowhere and watch cars go by really fast.

Lightning struck the control booth for the Plattekill double and it's gone.

Wedding business will use the triple.

It's a race to find needed Hall control parts before the season. Laz tells me that like everything else, supply chain for those parts is somewhat broken.

    A few more pics:

Fuck. I’m really upset about that. My plan was to make next season pretty much 100% Plattekill.

    BBBBBZZZZZTTTT, POOF!

That looks cooked. It will certainly be hard to find that equipment in time for the season.

in the belleayre ski patrol hq there was an ancient poster that said something like skiing is better than a wife because you’re allowed to ski as many mountains as you want.

but plattekill is pretty great if you have to “settle down”.

hopefully they figure out that lift before it gets cold.

    Yep

“As a place-based people, the Nulhegan Abenaki tribe appreciates the opportunity to work with the Woodstock resort team to rename this place and recognize its historic context as part of the land. This ‘standing mountain’ has been used by thousands of Abenaki ancestors for over 11,000 years and hopefully many more in the future. By acknowledging the original language of this place, the name Saskadena Six will honor the ancient legacy of the Abenaki alongside that of the generations who have loved it over the past 90 years and into the future.”

“This is more than renaming this place, this is recognizing the original stewardship of this land and providing cultural education to those who visit this standing mountain. I truly value the partnership that connects our past, present, and future stewardship in protecting this special place.”
