Shawnee definitely blew the most snow of the mwv resorts this year. Closed last weekend with full coverage on all the snowmaking trails. What is not good is the 10 am opening (11 last year) which makes it hard to ski then go to work. Also they have not opened some days in the past if we got big snows, they say it’s unsafe for their employees to drive there. They probably won’t do that with boyne owning it now. It has definitely gotten more crowded this year, vail completely ruining attitash/wildcat has driven their pass holders there.
That being said it’s a fun hill, good vibe. I’ll probably get a pass there, can take my kids there after school for night skiing. It’s only 15 minutes away from me.

50 degrees and Bluebird made for a perfect Spring day on the mountain for my last of the season at Saddleback.
Pretty much nobody there which made ripping the groomers exceptionally fun at speed.
Also got on some ungroomed once it softened up in afternoon.
Fun was had and no fucks were given. Well, maybe one fuck. This is for you Skadi, because the woods were never really “in” all season.

Full speed ahead on the harvest today, not sure if we'll get any more earned days in at Mt. A or not. Tomorrow looks good if I can get out of work early enough, not sure how things will look after the next batch of weather.

Can always tell it's spring when the "costumes" come out, is Catman heading to the 'Star this spring?
Also like that saddle slope corn bed.
58 > 28 trails Sat. > Today says get it before it's gone.
Went out Sunday afternoon after getting caught up watching GP racing all morning.
The skiing in slide brook was better than what this would have been Saturday
The groomers were just about perfect yesterday though a 9am opening would have been better for butter
NW view was about as good as it gets
Saw Skinny Pete looking for side hits now that the snorth park is closed
Caught Steins perfectly just as the shiny backside faces softened, only 3 scratchy turns in the old entrance bumps. Took several unfettered runs down the center before heading home at 1:30.
Currently 37º bob and another 90 minutes for lift spins. bravo running at 500fpm yesterday, talked to a lift and he said they were doing that due to "issues" with the controls.

Nice stoke all. I have been sequestered by first Covid and then weather and obligations for a few weeks. Hope to get out for at least one more day

Tentatively working on a mini-summit at Killington on Saturday, 4/16. Singlecross is coaxing an '85 Vanagon back from Upstate (wherever that is...) to Maine and wants to ski on Saturday.
Hoping Goniff, Peruvian, FussyD, Biggins, VT-F, Biggins, doremite, irip, buttah, Jackstraw, savemeasammy, powbmps, jhyatt and all others lurking here can make it. Would be really cool if the Magic crowd can make it...DoWork, RustyGroomer, MMP, OrangeGondola and others....

Ha! And yes, any opportunity to pick on the best skier on the mtn is a win! powbmps!
This is a possibility. I may be headed to the Loaf this weekend to meet a friends dad for the first time who was the mtn manager of Taos in the late 60's and worked with/for Ernie. If that happens it may throw a wrench in the following weekend do to wifey plans.

East Coast Roll Call 21-22 We have a hot date with Skadi, Pictures at 11
Thanks for the shout out here. Love to join but likely a long shot for me. I have more freedom from family stuff on weekdays. Like today for instance…. Back to back glory days up there
Even found a beer on The Jet! Yes a full one. Was getting parched too. Uller provides.
Great views were had. Some fantastic skiing too
