19.8* in SW NH this AM. Steam obscuring the view across the lake.

^ K-Zone would have that intel before the ECRC. I don't pay attention since they did away with the Express Card (counted as a pass for opening day) that they gave to veterans for free.

A balmy 21º bob under mostly clear wind free skies. Ullr has finally turned an eye to the east and the ground has started to freeze after our second summer. Get Some!

They have done a most impressive job to create a wall of ice along the edge. Snowmaker was 6-7' off the ground when I first saw him busting it up to move the gun.

On Sunday NL opening anytime soon looked doubtful, maybe it's back together now, otherwise bring your touring setup Saturday for some exercise.

Very interested to see what happens with the weekend dawn patrol uphill skinning scene at Stowe, now that parking fees are in play.

Just bring more friends. Free parking for carloads of 4 or more. There could be a business opportunity of deadheading as a passenger. Get picked up at The Matterhorn, charge $5 to help the driver get free parking, ride a skateboard back down and start over again.

Winter must be approaching. VTrans closed the Notch road.

I shoulda been more clear. I still get the same discounts (50% off weekdays, 25% off weekends) but no physical pass. Killington does it right. And the soup at the Peak Lodge is off the charts.

Last year on Veterans Day. Grilled cheese and mater soup

Don’t hate. Peak lodge food is on par cost wise with most other ski areas but the food itself is at least 2 levels above normal ski area fare. I think that entire tray, including the Gatorade was under $20.

Interestingly, the bread did not taste burnt.

It ain't no Black Line Tavern or Lake Pleiad Pub but yes, the food at the Peak Lodge is quite good. I do wonder how they are able to make burnt bread that doesn't taste burnt tho. Probably MSGs.
