When I got up at 5:30 the NW wind was raging and rattling anything loose outside. Stripped the 2 5/8" of heavy wet snow I measured at 9pm, a bit of graupel topping today. Currently 23º not so windy and the sun is just filling the sky.

Lurker J and Hatoff invited me to tour at snorth today but were bummed when I replied "snorth is closed for touring 'til 5pm for a private event"

    Get some!

Because of the weather and an indy pass, tended to head in other directions. Also did a good trip to QC for a big storm that was rain everywhere else- le massif, grand fonds and mt edouard (did not get into their bc zones though- hopefully next time for that). Fly fishing in the Esopus started yesterday though so there is that angle. And if any people here are into said fly fishing, though it is sometimes a solo thing, i am always looking to get out in the Berks, So Vt, Cats, Adks.

But also- anyone know what coverage at Belle is like?

i'd like to say i skied some of woods at platts you may have helped clear but other than some short traverses.a far cry from years where it was hard to stay out of 'em!

hearing brodie's steep so hoping they create a more wild snow-friendly niche.

come to think of it, Indy Pass would be a good strategy for a new ski place (like Brodie), that is- if you are allowed to ski there in public.

Surprise powday at stowe with Jhyatt. We hiked the chin, got some of the softest turns I’ve had up there in a while. It was so nice we did it twice…and J went back for a 3rd lap!!

    Close up.

    I love that.

    It’s not a bumper sticker.

It’s sized perfect for a ski safety bar.

Nice work gang! Jay also delivered all sorts of spring time blue bird goodness today. Solid 6" of fresh last night. Woods were riding nice, and as of 12pm lifts were ski on for the rest of the day. Maybe not corn, but mash potatoes for sure on the menu. Glad I made the trek down. So nice to ride in VT again. One thing about skiing in the US that I love is the quality chair banter. The language thing makes that difficult up here. Scored some beers too!

Way to get up there. The mt Ed bc zone is worth it. Can’t be accessed by booters so you can get it good if you’re keen. They call the BC zone the “Haute Route”(high road). Some vters I met up there were pronouncing it “hot route”. I dig that.

There’s also a good BC zone to hit on the road out of Sag. It’s kind of a RASTA/granite backcountry alliance type sitch I think. Petit Saguenay.

Sunny! Early lap was dry blower snow. Second lap was good especially the schwack.
I did a third solo trip up to the chin and it was heavy.

You have to experience a little schwack to appreciate the good turns. Great time today, hope we can do it again soon’

What a great looking day around the East!

Counted 170 at bravo opening, relaxed and headed out at noon for some sunny birches, grateful to get another day in the forest this year.
