The War on Drugs
So these guys have been around for a while and have been sneaking up on me over the years.
Each album I like a little more.
The last one Deeper Understanding was amazing. Missed the live shows around it but have tix for Feb in NYC.
most recent album dropped today, really good thus far.
Anyone else a fan?

Count me as a fan, also dig Kurt Vile's solo work.

Kinda glad they went separate ways as I like both differently

They only hit my radar recently. Sirius had a live version of Pain on heavy rotation. Definitely a fan now.

Saw them on the Deeper tour never having heard of them - really superb - seeing them twice in Feb (St Paul and Denver) - some good listens on archive:
From when they were just starting to broaden their footprint with Lost in the Dream (equal to Deeper Understanding imho): https://archive.org/details/twod2014...224bitT02.flac
Deeper tour (Alex Leary's recordings are always choice): https://archive.org/details/wod2017-...wmule.t01.flac

Growing on me for sure. Had no idea Kurt Vile was with them or associated with them, I've liked his stuff for awhile.

I fell into them on the last album and then started digging into their older stuff. Chilling in the evening, cooking dinner kinda tunes.

I'm a fan. Saw them at the Brooklyn bowl in Vegas, they are good live. Coming to SLC in March if I remember right. This thread reminded me their new album is out now finally - thanks for that.
Kurt Vile is good but too hokey for me. He tries to come off as a simple man in his latest album. I don't buy it.

love the war on drugs, so stoked to see them in March. great band, vile's antics notwithstanding. their tiny desk concert that just came out is dope:

I meant January
as in tomorrow
likely going in in a blizzard.
luckily I know how to dress for a blizzard.
long as the trains run.
got a room cuz I could.
Stoked to see them
weird they go from the Met in Philly to MSG to House of Blues in Boston
luckily I know where the good sound is in the renovated Garden
