Those things are VISCIOUS. Nothing I would ever want to get within a hundred yards of if I had a choice, although I have unintentionally stumbled upon a couple and quickly, quietly backed away.

No real confirmation, but I'm sure throughout the years my family (including as a kid) has lost a half dozen indoor/outdoor regular cats to them.

Our cats are now strictly indoors.

    Loud as fuck too..

They aren’t cats at all, probably far more vicious. Super cool animals however, tough as nails and will a destroy a porcupine like they don’t have quills. Between Fishers and Wolverines, the north (more so in Canada) has some scary critters that aren’t bears.

They were exterminated around here a hundred years or more ago but they are back now. And they're pissed.

10 years ago there were a ton of feral cats around here but I haven't seen one for a couple years now.

    Harry’s Island

Looks like I will be having a maggot visit by airplane. That’s very cool and I look forward to it.

So I thought I would post a photo I took this summer from an ultralight to give you a general idea. My island is far top center in this photo. This photo was several months before the island came up for sale, I had no idea what lay ahead of me.

Had a buddy who was talking to state game biologist - who said they found a Fisher's nest/lair up in a tree somewhere close to suburbia and it was filled with small bones and several pet collars.

That's really cool, Harry. Do you have a photo of that aircraft? Looks like a powered parachute?

I cut my teeth in ultralights in my early 20's. Can't beat the view.

First maggot to visit my island = AxeBiker

We skied all day at Christie Mountain, then stopped by my island on his way home. He drove his brodozer right across the ice. Super EZ.

I did have a Roo until about 2 weeks ago - got ridiculous trade offers and this (2021 Subie Crosstrek Ltd) and this (2015 Ram 1500 Tradesman):

...and ended up with this (2022 Ram 1500 Rebel):

First time in my life that I haven't had a car payment - I started driving in 1987... Needless to say, I'm pretty stoked! We loved having the Crosstrek and the Ram (my Dad's, who passed away last April), but we had 3 vehicles total (my wife has an Outback Wilderness), and only 2 garage spots, so we were always moving stuff around. 3 insurance payments, 3 license tabs each year, and then of course there's upkeep... I got more for the Subie than I paid for it, and got a lot for the Ram as well, so it seemed like a good decision.

Okay, I see why Harry called it a Brodozer. Definitely an Island stomping beast, congrats!

The Outback Wilderness is Subaru finding a way to make the doubters scratch their heads. As always. Really enjoyed watching a YouTube comparison of the Wild with a 4R. It did surprisingly well.

    Harry’s Island

Axe’s red brodozer is awesome. Spec’d really nice. Interior was black leather with red stitching, very cool.

We skied all day at Christie Mountain, then parking lot beers, then a quick tour of the local Nordic trail, then to the island. Full day, so not much time on the island this trip.

That pic makes my island look a lot smaller than it really is. It’s kind shaped like a slice of pizza, so that photo is the pointy end. The other end is real wide with a nice flat building site with a great view. We tromped all over the place looking it over.

Axe & I first skied together back when Moonlight was its own separate area. In fact, the day I first met Axe was also the first day I met uglymoney. The three of us skied together. What was that, 8-10 years ago ? Man, time goes by so fast.

Wish I could figure out a way to turn pictures on this dang forum... Wouldn't look like such a tech JONG then. I'll take a proper landscape pic when I get time.

Yeah - the Wilderness is a tasty little morsel! We got one of the first ones, and are very impressed! We went to CO this fall to visit family, and I was AMAZED how well that 2.4 turbo performs on the mountains! I'm definitely a believer! MPG suffers a bit with this model, but nothing horrible - I think we ended up around 25 mpg on that trip.

    Obligatory snap...
