Panera crap box lunch at work today. Back to being disappointed.

First Wednesday of the month means free Chick Fil A and local cookie bakery in the office.

I tried some wrap thing then gave up and went back for a spicy chicken just to make it official.

Balanced out the morning kale smoothie real good come afternoon workplace bathrooms slayed time.

Second lunchtime voyage to Popeyes to try their “Hottie sauce.” First time I ordered a chicken sandwich with hottie sauce on the side, they gave me hot mustard sauce. Today’s visit I ordered an 8 piece chicken nuggets with hottie sauce.

“We’re out of hottie sauce.”

I thought about saying fuck it and jumping the curb to get out of the drive through, but amended my sauce choice to buffalo sauce.

Let me digress, I’d perused their menu on-line and saw the smallest nugget order was an 8 piece. I’d thought to myself that seems like a lot of nuggets, not sure I want that many.

Got back to work with my sauce compromised nuggets, noticed the box they came in was surprisingly small, opened it and realized their “nuggets” are the size of cocktail shrimp. Just to add insult to injury my cajun fries were ice cold.

Disappointed all the way around.

Having chimney repointed- have a dedicated crew from Newark in for the day. I happened to be home at lunch and witnessed what I felt was absolute poetry. Owner who’s an efficient field Marshall has 5 guys on scaffolding and two trucks. He backs the truck up into driveway at 12:30 and busts out a big lunch bag. Fresh rolls and a couple gabagools, some cheese and proceeds to fashion up a sandwich for everyone. They eat and he then pours cappuccino out of a thermos for them all. They fired a couple dozen reds and right back to work. It was a joy to watch. Beautiful work, will hire again.
