It sure would be nice if we got the Yaris GR4 though...
We are likely getting the GR Yaris drive train in a corolla GR.

For a daily the auto is just so much more sensible considering the amount of driving I do. With the amount of time I spend in the car the extra nice things in the turbo trim packages and the power would be appreciated. Our next fun car will definitely be another NA manual but that's probably a year or two off unless something unexpected happens and a bunch of $$ lands in our laps.

Hey, on the plus side, at least the 3's AT still has 6 REAL gears. No CVT here! My last few rental cars with CVTs have reaffirmed to me that I DEFINITELY do not want one. Esp with auto stop/start. Haha.

Speaking of that, if I'm not mistaken, the Mazda 3 AWD turbo does not come equipped with that auto-start/stop garbage either. A HUGE plus in my book. Perfectly responsive from a stop light with no rubber bandy feel or lag. You press "go" and it just goes. What a concept, huh?

@mf yup normal auto and no stupid stop start. I won't ever get another cvt and I really dislike driving anything with ss.

The start stop died in my car a few weeks after me continually hitting the disable button. Winning.

I will be very eager to see how it goes as I've been keeping my eye out for one. I inquired about one last week but didn't get a good vibe from the seller.

Saw a MT 2008 135i coupe with 75K miles at Weatherford BMW in Berkeley listed for $16,500. I didnít want the N54 turbo engine though.

I would prefer the —52 as well, both for reliability and slow-car-fast reasons. I've seen a couple pop up here, but they've been convertibles, which I'm not totally against, but wouldn't be my first choice.

What did you end up paying for this one?

I'm going to look at this tomorrow:

    Craigslist link

2009 manual transmission, 105k miles, 10.5k supposedly firm price, appears to have a good service history.

I'd prefer the coupe, but they seem rarer and the vast majority I've found are automatics and transmission is a bigger priority to me. It might be fun to have a convertible for a bit.

Ugh, I was looking more closely at the pictures trying to determine trim level and I believe that it is an automatic, despite what the ad says. In the picture of the instrument cluster, it's in "P" and googling the shifter, it certainly seems like it matches the automatic. I assume it has paddles for gear selection or something.

Not all have paddles; need M Sport (or maybe sport pack) to get paddles and sport seats. Check out 1addicts forum.

Mine was ~$13.5K. M-sport, slicktop, AT w nice steering wheel/paddles. Not that many M-sport 128s out there.

Prolly easier to find a 135i manual, but then it may have been tracked, etc.

Convertibles are def fun; had a 1988 e30. Depends what you want.

I found out the guy just messed up in the listing. I assumed that it was some sort of automated manual, but nope. I'll keep looking.

I have been frequenting 1addicts and had just compiled a list of questions/things to check when I noticed the transmission.

Well, they're small enough. And I do have a car problem. And a drinking problem.

I actually did keep both minis in a single car garage.

I imagine a few drunk college football lineman on their way home from a bar could park one of those Mini's just about any place.

I used to have a MGB and on Sunday mornings I'd go to the beach with my gf along with friend in his B with his gf. At 12 o'clock when the Blue laws allowed beer sales, We'd leave our girlfriends and one car to make a beer run. By the time we'd return the parking lot would be full so we'd move the car left behind over and fit two cars in one spot (between the lines).

Change that to drunk female college rugby players and I witnessed something like that once.

First car was a 65 Corvair. Had it for 5 years. It was a car. It was small. And it definitely was fun. Rear engine made it the best car I've ever driven in the snow. On or off the road. A flat floor was great for hauling and on date nights.

A few people feel the rain. Most people just get wet.
