Gun safety ? This was a movie set where the idea was TO shoot a gun at someone

The idea was also to not kill them

so why did the armorer fail to find the real bullets which shouldn't have been there ?

I'm pretty sure Alex Baldwin being perceived as a dick has nothing to do with this movie accident ?

where is Colombo anyway, when he shows up it will be solved in < an hr
Columbo is on the movie set and in the station interviewing people, trying to find out why there were bullets on the set, if in fact that was the case. And he has better things to do than to satisfy our morbid curiosity.

Pointing fingers or defending herself? Like the piece you linked--how you say it matters. The Fox piece puts a sleazy slant on her attorney's statement without contradicting anything he said.. It will be a while before the facts come out, if they do, but does anyone doubt that powerful men in Hollywood would pick a young woman to take the blame after she made a pest of herself asking for more safety? (There's me putting a different slant on the story without offering any new facts. See how that works?)

I'm pretty tough on people who have the core responsibility of ensuring safety. What is the best angle here? "I willingly continued to perform my job even though I knew I couldn't ensure safety (which is the primary purpose of said job)?"

Might deflect some blame but a terrible augment IMHO.

She's also disputing the rumors about unauthorized plinking,.. Not sure if that helps her or hurts her more IF it DID happen 100% without her knowledge..

Don’t think it matters. A live round was in a gun that was her responsibility to insure was safe.

Agreed. If it was that bad she should have resigned.

Also, it was supposed to be a cold gun. No blanks, no bullets of any kind. Even if she “just” let a blank slip by her check it is a major, major fuckup. Seems like she also didn’t know there were live rounds on set, despite there being many.

Definitely the buck stops with the armor when the gun is handed to an actor without being properly checked. Still important to ascertain how real bullets ended up on the set and especially in a prop gun. There's plenty of liability to go around here.

There's been lots of times I should have quit a job and probably been justified but was too afraid of being without income and healthcare to walk. No unemployment if you quit. Some folks here don't know what it's like to lie without wealth..

If the scene called for you to put the gun to your head and pull the trigger, would you check that the chamber was clear first or just depend on an armorer to tell you that?
