WTB: Your old sunglasses
Gear Whores:
I'm want to buy light-lensed, rose or amber-lensed sunglasses for dark/shaded riding. My current smith's are way too dark for my ageing eyes. I thought I would check here to see if anyone has something laying around they would part with, before I buy new.
On a related note, the LBS told me to get the Smith photochromic lenses...anyone have real world experience?
Edit: Found some Smith Pivlock Arenas super cheap. Thanks for all the insight.Last edited by supermodel159; 10-28-2021 at 03:42 PM.

I have Oakley photochromatic lenses in some cycling glasses. They are are great for mixed coverage. I choose them for MTB on bright overcast days in the woods. Or closer to sunrise/sunset road rides.
They change automatically and I never notice them, which is a plus. Its fair that I think they are too dark in the woods, or not dark enough out in the open on a forest road climb.

I bought some $20 Banglong cycling glasses off Amazon that came with 3 lens. Clarity is good and they fog less than some old expensive smith pivlocks I used to have.

Similar experience with the cheap Amazon Poc knockoffs. 5-6 lenses included for something like $30 Canadian. Not quite as nice as “real” glasses, but they’ve worked well for biking all summer.

Too good of deal. They sent me a shipping notice, but it never went active and they don’t refund until you complain
