I haven't been to anyone in Albuquerque, but I've had some good luck with Alpine Sports in Santa Fe. Bootdoctors in Taos would be a pretty long drive, but they're good too.

Alpine Sports is pretty good, new ownership seems to have taken the reigns in the right direction. Bootdoctors bar none for special issues or a hard to fit foot, the owner is also the head honcho of Masterfit and they always have at least a few master boot fitters working daily. Make the drive, it's worth it.
Avoid REI.

Agree with the above, Bootdoctors definitely worth the 2.5 hour drive, and then…. Orlandos!! FTMFW

I'll also plug Bootdoctors, though they failed to figure out some of my fit issues over the years.
I had a pretty solid experience at Sport Systems in ABQ trying on boots. Didn't end up getting boots there, so I can't comment on their bootwork, but they were really supportive helping me find the right fit. One of the Blister reviewers works(ed?) there too, and she knows her shit.
