The Truckee Tahoe Facebook page today is high comedy. Bay area pandemic exodus wake up call. It's a huge storm, your power is out and the roads are closed, no shit.

    Speaking of power outages

    "Tuesday December 14, 10:20am

TDPUD is experiencing multiple outages across a The Greater Truckee area, including the Donner Lake, Tahoe Donner, Glenshire, Martis Valley/Sierra Meadows, Gray's Crossing and Greater Prosser, areas. Crews are responding, no estimated time of restoration at this point. To report an outage please call (530) 587-3896. Thank you for your continued patience.

    Tuesday December 14 8:48am

NV Energy is experiencing transmission outage. Will update when we have ETA. (530) 587-3896 for up to date information."

There were multiple outages all over town yesterday--we went out about 4, back on 630, off again 7P and still out. TDPUD says "multi day outage" although IME they often have the power on faster than they say they will. I don't know if the NV Energy issue is affecting NLT/Palisades as well but it usually does.
So if you're heading up in the next couple of days best to check the power situation where you're heading.

SB opens tomorrow--passholders only tomorrow and thurs. Sure looks might purty at Donner Lake this am. Saw a small flock of tundra swans out for a swim yesterday.

Olympic Valley out of power in the neighborhood Village has power.
Grader hit a power line (or two?, or three???). Neighborhood gossip sure goes around on a day like today.

Confused am I since I don't reside anywhere near Schaffer's Mill...and haven't left the house since an ill-fated grocery run on Sunday eve.
But safe will I stay (to the best of my ability).

Good guess, but 'twas the end of the day around 4:30, somewhere up near High Boy. Not sure, I don't know Alta too well. I skied (1-foot sideslipped) down myself though, no patrol.

I wonder if the guy you saw was the same who came into the clinic to thank medical staff while I was in there around 5. He had 14 fresh stitches above his eye! All in all, I was glad I hit rocks with foot and not face.

Damn you guys it looks epic up there, wish I could get out and taste it!

You don't need your face to ski.

Heal up Wobby. I had ankle surgery in October one year and was out on groomers before New Years. As Pdork said, it's all about getting into the boot. I had an old pair of boots that were like old slippers I never threw away. Used them most of the rest of that season.

That is some fun looking gun barrel.

Power out at SB as well (as well as pretty much everything this side of Auburn) with no estimate. I know they've run lifts on diesel in the past but given the limited opening they might just postpone if the power's still out.

Kind of always assumed you were around TD hence that early season (or high advisory) beta for Sunrise. Which, how is it? Heading back up as soon as it’s not stupid to drive.

You all are quite kind, hoping for a groomer day by February. Anyone have beta on post-ankle BC skiing? I'm assuming that mellow pow will be fine, but skinning?!?

In other random requests. I'm wondering if anyone local would have a pair of alpine bindings lying around, which they'd be willing to part with in the next couple days? Not for my use, but I will pay $$$$.
Need to have DIN in the range of 6-10 & be able to fit a ski that is about 110 underfoot.

If the current opensnow forecast holds, looks like some low elevation NV eastside skiing might go. Damn this could shape up to be a great month!
