It's actually 3.25' (closer to 3.5' now) above the gage datum of 6220. The rim is 6223, so it's about a half-foot above the rim. Lots of water.

    Right. More like 6" gain. 1" = about 3.3 billion gallons. So 20 B gallons, or roughly 74k acre-feet.
    Lots of water.

Folsom Lake's sensors went up 9" between 6pm yesterday and 6pm today. The next two days will be even more interesting once everything rolls downhill.

Total for Sacramento is in, 5.44" in 24 hours. Wettest day since they started keeping records in 1877.

    Damn.
That's at least 3 major semi wrecks in that area over the last 4 days.
I got stuck in the EB traffic jam on Thursday night due to a multiple semi pile-up at Floriston.
Then on Friday WB from Reno there was a semi wreck just before Hirschdale that blocked WB traffic all the way back to Farad. I missed getting stuck in that by 30 mins.

And y'all owe me copious beers cuz I went to LA for the week and right after I boarded the plane the weather came in.
    You're welcome.

Looking forward to Halloween turns when I get back...

I woke up a couple times last night and checked out the cam, could not see much beyond what looked like snow coming down in all directions, was trippy looking, had I eaten some mushrooms I could have watched it for hours. BTW I just checked it and it’s online

Well if vail doesn’t get there resorts running soon, it’s on for skinning, gimpy is probably already out there, although right now this is ACL tearing snow, hopefully it will come with a cold topper

I doubt many of the resorts will be able to staff up all that quickly, even under normal non-labor-shortage conditions. Mammoth always plans ahead because they're used to opening earlier. I'd say 2 weeks from now is maybe realistic, although I hope I'm wrong. I think it was about 10 years ago we got a late October dump and Squaw still didn't open until mid November.

seems like we're on our own here in the basin for the time being. At least on the south shore. 50 is closed both ways 89 north is either closed at emerald bay or traffic is stopped. Same for Kingsbury and Luther.

Nope apparently I haven't had an ACL since that little incident above Winimucca after we skied the Moon Coolie in 2017.

Here's a fun fact. Yesterday at 6:00 am the Lake level was at 6222.95'. Today at 6:00 am the gauge read 6223.47', an increase of .52'. The previous largest single day increase going back to 1957 was was .48' on February 16, 1986 making yesterday the largest single day increase on record. We went from -08% to 7.7% of capacity in 24 hours.
