    That sounds great to me.

Looks like we'll be at the bank in Reno doing van paperwork on the 13th, and then will have the 14th and 15th to ski (and 16th AM if it's worthwhile). I'll check back in again but some JONG advice on timing the harvest as we get closer to those dates would be helpful. Can't say I've ever attempted to ski corn in January before

North Tahoe mags, is anyone heading to Mammoth in the next month or two that would be able to swoop this BD pack for me? No rush, I have the same pack but after 5 seasons it's getting beat beyond repair. I love it so I'm stoked to get a new one. Thanks homeys!

Sure. I’ll be down to the east side soon enough and may park in your driveway if the offer still stands. Pull the trigger on it and I can go pick it up in the next few days.
I ski 135 degree chutes switch to the road.

Anybody have conditions beta for North Aspect on the North Lake side? Want to take a buddy for his first tour this weekend to something like sunrise bowl. Guessing its not very great and won't be getting better so thinking of postponing a week and getting some corn somewhere else next weekend.

sunny aspects are 2/3 the way to corn. The rest is as bad for dogs as it is for skiing. West facing at lake level in the afternoon isn't bad though

Bring bikes. Juneuary corn can be fun, but it's pretty unreliable.Name: 16415158368960.jpeg

Why so fixated on north aspect? How competent an off-piste skier are they? What about going a tour out chickadee ridge or the ridge west of rose summit proper just to get the hang of skinning, kick turns, beacons, etc?

Silverado is listed on wind hold. I thought they were not allowed to open that basin until after Presidents week...

Doesn't speak to when they are allowed to open it but this is from their OPS blog yesterday - https://blog.palisadestahoe.com/oper...weekend-ahead/
Silverado is very, very likely to be on wind hold at the start of the day. After the access road got put in earlier this week, patrol has been in that area setting up today. They report that conditions are variable: there is a thin rain crust across most of the terrain, but underneath the snow is nice and cold. Additionally, in a few extra-sunny spots, the snow is a bit wet. All of this means that the skiing/riding on Silverado will likely improve as the terrain gets skied out more (so no need to rush for first chair!)

    HELL YEAH, SILVERADO!!

Anybody have recent conditions reports for sheltered E/N trees in the Rose area (ranging from 9000 down to 6000')? I've read the SAC obs, and looks like at/above treeline is wind-hammered, but doesn't really discuss more sheltered treed areas.

Pics from last week for attention and good stoke. Thanks hooomans!

We just skinned up from the road, but we do ski right across the flume on the way down.

The first pic is - the position in that line is just absurd.

The second two pics are various west shore spots.

Yea meter that drop in to bear scratch is always sketchy but it’s really thin up there right now wind tends to blow the snow out of the top of it.

Here’s the 89 backup this morning. And yes, that’s highway 80 coming down the grade.

Guys, I’m starting to think maybe just maybe they sold too many Ikon / Epic passes.
