Yeah the caltrans website says 50 is closed "due to spinouts" I dunno.

sunny down here in the bay right now..
I'm sure there are a bunch of them closing it from Pollock to Echo. And clearing them is difficult and sets back the plows if they can't get by. It's light to moderate snow here but with gusts nuking and dropping the vis to zero (at 6,500')

Snow was so light yesterday but the wind sure fucked it up……blowtown to drift town.
What are the chances of valley laps being doable Evan? How much snow fell over this cycle? Avy danger has gotta be off the hook with all the wind transport but tree shots should be worthy
…….off to shovel again before the trenchtown experience later

This can’t be the best they can do
    Out my front window
    12/26. 11:30

    Out the front door
There’s more snow on my covered porch than parts of the driveway

Guess they were able to open a few things - not bad, given the circumstances.

With family in Truckee and power went out again this AM. Insane amount of snow and 50, 80, 89, and 395 (I think) in addition to Palisades, Sugar, and Alpine are closed. Luckily was able to ski Palisades yesterday afternoon but not thinking I’ll get out of the house today…

I did have a beautiful dawn patrol with friends at Hidden Peak before the storm. Beautiful area, mags! Click image for larger version.

There still isn't much base below 6k, but you guys do valley laps every season way before I think there is enough snow down here. The wind has been relentless since yesterday afternoon, so anything not deep in the trees will be fuct.

The program doesn't "sell out", but of course individual vendors may run out of permits to sell.

Positive. Well, at least I got 'ronad out of the shitshow at work and in town tonight. Just driving the three miles to my buddies house (he had an extra test) took over two hours.

    Damn Centerville looks nice.

Damn that sucks. Hoping he went out of bounds and got lost and will be found. It wouldn't take much to get where it would take a day in these conditions to get back.

No I should have captured the essence better this AM with my grab. They can pretty much always get lower Cali going but it is a little reach to think anything else but maybe Stage. They just invite mayhem from the get go by not just having a clue.
I'm cool with this, as long as you Kirkwood Bro Brah's stay away from Heavenly when 88 closes- TahoeBc

Pretty sure they have some control over some of the tweets, but some come straight from Broomfield

Goldenboy, hoping for the best, the following is not your area.

SAR buddy of me sent me photos night skiing in the old Wells Fargo area last night. Went to rescue a couple skiers wallowing back in there and got caught in the dark.

    Greetings Tahoe mags,

I am in search of touring partners in the Truckee area, especially for weekday dawn patrol. I'm going to be to working from my ski lease in Tahoe Donner pretty frequently and will be looking to get out for early morning tours before clocking in. Would be awesome to meet up and do some skiing. I've been skiing my whole life but I started touring in 2016. I have AIARE 1 and WFR certs. I'd be happy to get to know folks a little and discuss experience levels before venturing out together.

That zone has overgrown with thick understory - challenging in even more user friendly conditions. Current conditions would make it ridiculous. Thanks to SAR for having to debone the boneheads.

Damn…….last night was cold ( by Tahoe standards) and crazy windy…….a terrible night to be stuck outside……vibes for a positive outcome ++++
Im sure you will be fine court……but if you do happen to take a turn for the worse hit me up

Very difficult trailbreaking today and back to wiggling on the down until things settle out…… the juice was not quite worth the squeeze
