    Pffft, 8k, where you been.

Still has small feet, needs 22.5 to get touring boots. I'm not overly anxious about starting that process, let the kid have fun riding lifts.

    Seriously.
May be an old dumbass, but still enjoy the wind in my face and snow under foot.
Don't know why I tell stories to strangers, anyhow.

This year I lashed them to an old tomato cage, I had been trying to figure a way to lash them all together at the tips but it was notoriously wobbly.

I’ve heard some rumors. Anyone got inside info as to what the bird is actually going to open tomorrow? I’m hearing no Peruvian gulch due to coverage low down. Too bad as I know the cirque would be ripping.

    Two potentially stupid questions:

1: Why would you think anything, other than Big Emma/Regulator will open today?
From the Snowbird website: "Grab your best '70s attire and join us in Gad Valley for Birdstock, celebrating 50 years of powder and memories with groovy tunes, giveaways and more. Gadzoom, Little Cloud and the Aerial Tram will be spinning from 9 am - 4 pm, conditions and weather permitting."

2: Assuming that Mineral will not be open, can I ski a few laps on B.E./Regulator then drive over to Alta and take a few Wilcat/Collins laps without using 2 days on my IKON pass?

As far as my understanding goes you will be hit twice. Better question though is why would you even want to waste 1 day right now?

Isn’t AltaBird considered a single resort as far as iko goes?

I haven't looked at this year's policy, but I assume it is the same as the last few years where your block of days count towards each of them. So you get 5 days for Alta or Snowbird. Not 5 days for AltaBird. So they get counted as 1 resort as far as your block of days goes (they both use the same block), but then they get counted separately when you actually use the days. That is my understanding and someone can feel free to correct me. I have an Ikon pass but I also have an AltaBird pass so it never comes into play with me.

If you have an IKON you definitely get 7 Alta/Bird days (but I've only entered thru Mineral). Thinking of donning '70s garb and hitting up the Bird, but there may be less crowds at Alta today. I will make up my mind when I see the the parking sit. at the Bird.

Does snow still go from the summer road to the grizzly cat road, or is there some dirt walking involved to traverse the S and W facing?

A few years ago I started at Alta and went over to the bird and used lifts on both mountains and only got hit once, Ikon pass was a combo Alta/bird pass, not sure if that changed. Edit to say I just called and they confirmed it is a combo pass, 1 day.
