can't go for a hot tub landing when it's kiddie pool deep! the funny thing is it looks like they probed the landing before hitting it... just a tumble or is there somebody out there with a really sore tail bone today?

I admittingly was never very good at math but can someone explain to me how Alta is reporting a 23" season total but a 26" base? I'm very confuzzled.

The 23" season total probably isnt right. The 26" base is right, and comes from the Alta-collins plot:

It's because they technically don't start tracking the season total until after a certain date in the fall. They do the same thing in the spring when stopping the tracking. That's why if we have a big spring after said date, Snowbird will be claiming to have a bigger season total than Alta.

Just here to subscribe to this thread. Head is still in desert mode. But it’s been nice to walk the dog in some precip lately.

Anybody get up to Alta yesterday or today? Trying to gauge coverage to tour off Collins.

I need to go to Utah.
    Utah?
Yeah, Utah. It's wedged in between Wyoming and Nevada. You've seen pictures of it, right?

So after 15 years we finally made it to Utah.....

Thanks BCSAR and POWMOW Ski Patrol for rescues

The Collins corridor is beat in like a groomer. Get it while you can, they’re plowing the road to Watson starting Monday so they can bring the new lift drive’s to the Collin’s angle station.

powder panic! about 100 cars in the lot this morning by 8 AM. there were no less than two sets of switchbacking skin tracks and a booter across and up the steepest grassiest pitch I know of, and scores of traverse-y half fall-line tracks down everything, except the rocky lines where people opted to send it fastest and straightest.

just another example of what Ikon is doing to our skiing experience, even in the pre-season.

aggies, mambo, corkscrew are just plain soft crud fun with good coverage!

I was there this morning too, it was busy but the stoke was high from everyone i passed. I wouldn't rip on people not fall line skiing this early, there were a few rocks i felt and saw a quite a few on the way down even on grassy slopes with solid coverage. Be safe and have fun, its so dope skiing good conditions in october!

This is the stoke I continue to follow the Wasatch threads for. The last October turns I remember in LCC were Halloween 2004. I hope it just keeps coming for y'all!

Went up last night with a TGR lurker and another friend. Probably 150-200 cars in the Collins lot. Absolutely off the rails. But a good environment - people were having fun.

I was skeptical, but the pow was GOOD.

Anybody got eyes on the conditions today? Wondering how it's doing with the sun and the traffic.

new ninas appears to be a bump run now, but I'm curious how the snow's holding up as well. Planning on heading up tomorrow "early" if anyone wants to make turns.

Not to shabby. Low angle was fun. Steeper slopes starting to get sticky.

The Aggies/Meadow/Nina's corridor is skiing really well. Packed in but still dry. Big water bars and a few rocks on Nina's. E faces got a little sun. Skiing was still good on stim around 2. W faces starting to get cooked but still skied nicely. Not quite too hot yet.

Went out Solo, first of the year. Had to eight myself out.
