And the wind has eroded the top of it away.

what happened to the eldora that was the ugly redheaded step child of colorado ski areas?
every tool bag from boulder found out what a throw back low key shitty resort is and they now hit it up to ski in wool pants and be close to home?
shuttling corona pass and hitting the ski area on the way back down to boulder was always fun on the bike

COLORADO: Which mtns still have MTB lift service?
I wish there were a couple more Eldoras in the foothills between the metro and the resorts. Would spread people out for all.
Not to mention some night skiing opportunities.

A bit off-topic (like that's never happened) but any recommendations for hiking trails within an hour of Denver that are peak foliage right now?

Go to summit county. Clear Creek county leaves are pretty meh at this point. I don't give trail recommendations, I don't know your abilities or anything to know if you hike for 10 minutes or 10 miles.

Brief trip report...
Ended up hiking in Golden Gate Canyon State Park yesterday. Easy enough to get to and variety of trail options. Hiked Raccoon Trail & Mule Deer.
Elevation and recent freeze definitely got to it. Few aspens left with golden leaves, but still beautiful nonetheless. Lots of snow on the upper half of the trail, and some foliage left on the bottom half with remarkably different climates depending on parts of the trail.
If you're seeking leaves this time of year, definitely stick to lower elevations. And if you end up in Golden Gate, stop by New Terrain Brewing on your way back into Denver.
