It's Time To Update The Hall Of Fame!

(x-Posted in Padded Room because many of you don't venture there)

Since 2005, The Hall Of Fame subforum has had only two legitimate entries
    - When Raps moved to Aspen in 2008
    https://www.tetongravity.com/forums/...l-me-T-J-Burke

    - When Ape_Natural retrieved a camera lens for Single in 2010 – on crutches https://www.tetongravity.com/forums/...the-Year-Award

In the meantime, certain pendejos have taken it upon themselves to add decidedly non-HOF threads, such as:
    https://www.tetongravity.com/forums/...ed-w-o-comment
    https://www.tetongravity.com/forums/...-eastern-block

And while some may say that the quality of threads here went to shit after the Rob Storey article, I still think there are several since then that are HOF worthy. Examples that come instantly to my mind:

    - Rise to the Top (Tumble to the Bottom’s) adventures on Mt Adams https://www.tetongravity.com/forums/...NH)?highlight=

    - The GSA https://www.tetongravity.com/forums/...-Spirit-Animal

    - The Taos NM beta thread, even though it’s still going
    https://www.tetongravity.com/forums/...ew-Mexico-BETA

    - The DigitalDeath – IVPlay ski-off and $37 dispute
    https://www.tetongravity.com/forums/...ise+to+the+top

    - Bushwacka’s tutorial on releasable pole straps just last season https://www.tetongravity.com/forums/...ard?highlight=

Some may argue the worthiness of each of the above, and no doubt there are many others worthy of memorializing in the Hall of Fame.

So here’s the plan after plugging in with certain moderators. Please:
    - Recommend threads that belong in HOF
    - Recommend threads that should be pulled. For example, there’s a lot of threads missing all the photos
    - Nominate maggots to review the recommendations here (and in PR) and make decisions on which threads are worthy of HOF

Once there’s committee consensus on new entrants and those that shouldn't stay, the Gods and Goddess of Moderation can move the threads.

    Other considerations
    – there are certain threads that may be best left where they are? An example is the Betty Dee Girls Gone Wild thread (RIP Liz) that Klar bumps annually. Do we leave that in Trip Reports or move to HOF?

We can figure out the rest later

    Ready? Nominate!

I'll start by nominating Abraham and IAS to the Review Committee

what happened to that Jesse Jones GS thread, that was classic. Went looking for it a while back, got bored, went on living my life
Do I detect a lot of anger flowing around this place? Kind of like a pubescent volatility, some angst, a lot of I'm-sixteen-and-angry-at-my-father syndrome?

    fuck that noise.

Meh - will see what we get, and move what makes sense.

The Mt Adams and the GSA threads set a fairly high bar.

The 333skis debacle/journey through time was memorable. I occasionally still see that referenced.

The GSA (praise and glory be upon him) thread deserves its own subforum.

Edit to add: VPM, sometime we should do a TR of the Fireside Inn adventure. That would make the cut.

^^^ Agreed Tom from Austria should be immortalized. Problem is he started 10 threads about Rax. https://www.tetongravity.com/forums/...rchid=30387038

Please winnow to at most two nominations

Mr Lish deleted his original thread flogging 333skis
But several threads spawned from his
Teh Poacher’s documentary film for 333 comes to mind
    https://www.tetongravity.com/forums/...?highlight=333

There are many others related to 333 skis. Search and ye shall find. Then nominate

ETA - I see where LeeLau built a complete MTB for $333

    https://www.tetongravity.com/forums/...light=333+skis

    Good stuff people.

Anyone remember a thread about near death experiences from maybe 10 - 15 years ago? Several pages of really damn interesting stories. HOF worthy for sure.

I vaguely recall that. I'm sure iceman had a story or two in there.
"fuck off you asshat gaper shit for brains fucktard wanker." - Jesus Christ
"She was tossing her bean salad with the vigor of a Drunken Pop princess so I walked out of the corner and said.... "need a hand?"" - Odin
"everybody's got their hooks into you, fuck em....forge on motherfuckers, drag all those bitches across the goal line with you." - (not so) ill-advised strategy

That was amazing because didn't one of the skiers in question turn out to be Tom Wallisch? And he just wasn't known until the time around the thread came out and he won the Super Unknown contest?
