What usb bike light set should I buy?

I need a new bike light set for commuting. I’d like to see a bit in the dark and be seen. It’s for night use not daytime running lights. I’d rather not spend a fortune. I’d like the kind with the silicone straps that are quick to take on and off.

Bunch of name and no name brands out there.

Any suggestions? Anyone have anything they like?

Light & Motion are by far my favorite lights I’ve used on a bike. The pulsing rear signal is more safe imo because it preserves drivers’ depth perception. Also the side indicators are a nice touch.

Lezyne lights are reliable and good value. They make a version of the front ones now that has a cutoff like car headlights so you don't blind oncoming traffic.

For commuting you don't need the big bright ones. I use a 400lm one on medium. Any of the rear ones will be crazy bright.

Light and Motion is well-regarded, as others have said. I've been happy with my Cygolite Metro Plus 800 too. On high, your hand gets hot if you hold it in front of the beam - LED headlights are so much better than the old-school incandescents that there's no comparison.

I use Light & Motion for my MTB (bars and helmet) and agree - super high quality and reliable.

My Shenkey lights are incredibly bright (for MTB), have lasted for years, and are dirt cheap.

That being said, I don’t use them daily so I can’t attest to day in and day out abuse.

I flagged down another cyclist one time to ask where they got their taillight, because it was un-missable from many blocks away in full daylight. He told me it was a Dinotte. Their stuff is $$$ though.

I'm not a fan of how the L&M has a narrow round spot pattern and I had the usb port break on my urban 500 after a few months. They sent me a new one right away but still that probably shouldn't happen. I do like my taz 1200 but it's way overkill for commuting. Something like this would be a good choice

Ive got L&M permanently wired to my Ebike commuter it's been flawless for 2 years of 5 days a week 48 weeks a year use. I have a Lyzne and a Blackburn both have been awesome. Blackburn is 4yo, Lyzne is 2. Lyzne sells front/rear sets that comunicate so you only have to turn on the headlight and the taillight comes on too, they're about $100CAD ($75USD?)
