two of your four 76ers cited played 70 games at 10ppg min; four of your four nuggets cited played 70 games at 10ppg min
Doesn't that suggest better support for Jokic as stated?

Maybe unstated is that those 76ers were more like 20ppg? not following

I didn't put scoring averages in there, I just (arbitrarily) picked 10ppg as the floor for my list, because outside of Draymond Green, virtually every top player in the league (and the top players on every team) score at least 10ppg. But I didn't put ppg averages because I thought people who know the NBA know the players in question, and also know that simply comparing PPG as a determination of the value of a player is silly. In every NBA game, someone has to take the shots, and even the shittiest team is going to have players scoring over 10ppg, that doesn't make them better. I mean, to use someone from a different team ("my" team), Marcus Smart scores "only" 12.1ppg, and Robert Williams "only" 10.0ppg, but there isn't a knowledgeable basketball fan in the universe that would say that Monte Morris is the better player than those guys because he scores more points. So no, the data I listed doesn't support the notion that Jokic has better support simply because his team had more guys averaging 10ppg.

    But fine, here:

    Harden 21g, 21.0ppg
    Maxey 75g, 17.5ppg
    Harris 73g, 17.2ppg
    Seth Curry 45g, 15.0ppg

    Aaron Gordon 75g, 15.0ppg
    Will Barton 71g, 14.7ppg
    Monte Morris 75g, 12.6ppg
    Jeff Green 75g, 10.3ppg
    Bones Hyland 69g, 10.1ppg

All 4 guys on the Sixers list scored as much or more per game than every player on the Nuggets list.

Here's the craziest thing I've seen that supports Jokic's case.

    https://www.basketball-reference.com.../DEN/2022.html

Scroll down to advanced stats and look at BPM (Box Plus Minus). Jokic was +13.7 and everyone else on the team was in the negative, except Barton who clocked in at 0.0. That's truly insane... I didn't even think that was possible.

    hmm, short life you've had

During a Phillies game in 2010, a 21-year-old fan named Matthew Clemmens and his friend were escorted by security out of their seats for unruly behavior. However, on their way out, Clemmens reportedly "leaned over and put two fingers down his throat" and started vomiting onto an off-duty police officer and his 11-year-old daughter. He was later charged with aggravated assault along with a few additional counts.

2001 Flyers fan Chris Falcone, who had seats a couple rows behind the visitor's penalty box during a 2001 Maple Leafs-Flyers game jumped into said box when Domi was sent there and squirted water onto other fans who were taunting him. Falcone was handed a citation and also needed stitches

September 2014 Redskins' Chris Baker was ejected for a hit on Nick Foles during an interception return. Got a cheesesteak to the mug on way out

2015ish Ryan Howard got a beer bottle tossed at him at home

Ok just last year a 6ers fan ran onto the court, during the game against the Wizards.

Sure google could find a few more....

My fav was when I took a buddy from Philly to a Jazz Sixers game in my hotel's corporate seats. This was likely 2001 or 2. So we are in the then Delta center and the jazz come towards the 76er basket. Few passes in and then a pass to the paint. J stands up and yells top of his lungs " RIP HIS FAKKIN ARM OFF!"

I said, lets go get something at the snack bar

What NBA pods do you guys listen to? I listen to a lot of the BS reports and while I know he's going to be a Celtics homer today's pod was ridiculous. Zero mention of the freethrow discrepancy down the stretch and actually complained that the Bucks got too many calls! Hilarious...it was truly what I imagine TahoeJ being like when talking about the Warriors.

2021/2022 NBA Thread: Anyone but the Lakers or Nets!

Except I don’t actually do that. Look from the game 2 loss, I said we shot like shit and Ja was incredible. The refs were pretty horrible in that game but I didn’t even bother to mention it…mostly because the refs league wide have been horrible so that’s pretty standard. Heh.

I will admit that like BS, I'm a C's homer. But I honestly was surprised to read after the game about the free throw discrepancy, because watching the game it felt like there was a lot of stuff in the Bucks' favor. There was a blatant goaltend by Giannis, there was one play where Tatum was pushed and it wasn't called, there were the many times where Giannis just barreled through people, the non-3pt foul with Smart (though the league agreed with the refs on that one). I watched it alone so nobody with me to point out all the bad calls against the Bucks, but there was certainly a lot of stuff missed by the refs. I won't say anything like the game was stolen, it was a hard fought game that could have gone either way and the Cs sure had their chances, but simply pointing out a FT discrepancy doesn't mean that the Cs were favored by the refs.

For old time's sake, would love it if we had a Celtics-Sixers conference finals.

Appreciate the passion here. Seemed to me that Jokic, Embiid, and Giannis were all worthy MVP candidates. Having no dog in the fight, any one of them could win MVP and be deserving. If I were Adam Silver, I'd put a finger on the scale for Embiid to spread the love and have a larger media market player win, but that doesn't appear to have happened. (Why is Philly hated on, BTW? Or is there no explanation and it's just a "thing." The above incidents show Philly fans can be aggro, but do they explain hate of Philly?)

On a different note, anyone else notice that some of the outstanding old guard players are more inconsistent now (KD, Curry, CP3, Harden, etc.)? Or, is it just that players except the top 3-4 guys are inconsistent? (See, Booker, Tatum, as guys who are outstanding but maybe not top 3-4 yet)

I like the Lowe Post a lot.

The Real Ones (ringer NBA show) with Raja Bell and Logan Murdock is solid.

    Woj's podcast is good too.

Bill Simmons' podcast is good, but he is very new england sports biased.

And then a couple Utah Jazz specific podcasts (Locked On and Unsalvageables, my buddy actually does that one but I think it's over and I always tell him, he's so critical of the Jazz, I'm left wondering if he's actually a fan).

Philadelphia sports fans are some of the most passionate fans in America and I love it. My mother's family all live in the Philly area and the sixers are my second favorite team.

I don't know why we're debating Jokic winning MVP. I thought it was pretty much a done deal awhile ago. It seemed like every straw poll done down the stretch said he was the front runner by a large margin. I'd rather see it go to Embiid but I don't have a vote haha it is what it is.

I'm kidding man. I enjoy the homerisms...I do the same shit with the zers...they just happen to suck at the moment.

Like I say, I don't care who wins this series and it's been very entertaining...but I did notice that the Celts were getting to the line a lot, and sometimes it wasn't a blatant foul IMO. When Giannis blocked Tatum's shot that did look like goaltending in real time, but I thought in the replay it wasn't clear if it was on the way down. He seemed to time it perfectly, but I haven't studied it closely. Giannis is a tough guy to officiate...what BS said is right, he drives and it's arguably a blocking foul or an offensive foul every time. FT discrepancy should never be 17-0 down the stretch like that. Given those conditions I'm surprised the Bucks won. Great game...I'm sure more great games to follow.

BS's idea that the Bucks are a better team without Middleton seemed like pure homerism...then he turns around and says that Holiday can't be shooting that much because he and Giannis putting up 60 shots isn't a winning combo. Make up your mind man! I like the BS pod a lot tho...just found the discussion boarding on ridiculous at times.

Tahoe J you need to embrace your homerism - it’s blatant and there is a reason you get called out on it so much. I love everyone’s passion for their team on here. Just sucks that my team is on the verge of disbanding so I can’t participate in the ref blaming and such.
I am just here to go pick n record stating how much I have enjoyed seeing CP3 flame out.

Oh of course I'm a Dubs homer... just saying I don't constantly blame the refs when they lose the way Simmons does with Boston.

Actually no you don’t. And between you and Danno I think you have the most thoughtful comments on here ( as long as your not talking about your team)
I honestly don’t see anyone beating the warriors in the west. Although, I don’t think Klay looks great. If he can take a legitimate backseat to Poole I think they are unstoppable

Also, looks like Celts are winning tonight which gives us three 2-2 series. Let’s go Grizz. Bring us 4 of them.
