2021/2022 NBA Thread: Anyone but the Lakers or Nets!

It got a little interesting towards the end there and I was happy to see the Warriors’ bench get some playoff reps. Never expected to sweep a team with Luka on the roster and a little adversity before taking on Boston / Miami isn’t the worst thing. When a team is shooting like that you just have to tip your cap.

Kerr is a fucking stud....what a courageous pregame speech to make...even if the school shooting hadn't happened I think the Mavs take game 4...but, on top of that with Kerr clearly and understandably distracted by the events that happened it can't be much of a shock that the Ws lost. I was surprised how close it was.
Damn shame, throwing away a perfectly good white boy like that

Heh, those early minutes were ugly, looked like a rock fight.

edit to add: looks like Miami decided to take the 2nd half off.
Must be reflecting the effort of the awesome Heat fans.

    Luka is fat and soft.
He needs to do what the elite players in the NBA do and have a personal trainer and a chef live with him.

Yep there were a lot of NBA players that just relied on their skills for a few years then realized they needed more than that. Seeing him have to play the full 4thQ but not having the legs for those step back 3s. That said he needs a little more around him.

The question with Luka is how will he gel with a true #2 option? I mean he doesn’t strike me as selfish so probably just fine. That Mavs roster is pretty decent as is, however. More of a Dirk style team but what happened in 2011 is becoming even more rare these days.

Warriors get to rest. Miami and Boston continue to slug it out. Yikes. Battered, bruised, and tired is no way to go through life.

if boston wins tonight then it's one less days rest and finals don't start till next thursday. if goes to 7 then a diff story. although seems like Boston/Miami are just more battered than GS now.

I don't see how the Warriors don't win. Which is disappointing. Way more fun when things are wide open, like the ECF.

We'll see if Buckets shows up tonight or if it's just All Star Jimmy. Be fun for it to go 7.

I guess that's the real excitement in the ECF series, eh? Let's play "Who's going to show up tonight?"

More so I think the Warriors having home court (where they have yet to lose a game this playoffs) is a bigger deal.

Disagree EWG - this is far from a foregone conclusion and I'm not taking Boston or Miami for granted at all. Boston presents some of the same matchup problems we had against Memphis. Bunch of lengthy defenders on the floor and they can switch all they want.

Damn, for someone who's a jinx my sports teams sure win a lot. ;-)

Not a Raiders fan so that whole "jinx" thing doesn't make much sense, but hey whatever. Kind of reaching with that one.

Oh it's all in good fun. Just a little back and forth trash talk. :-)

BTW - Barkley shit talking with Dubs fans outside of Chase was funny as hell (I was there for game 1) and it sucks that some assholes started throwing stuff at him. So not cool. Chuck is so entertaining and doesn't mean half of what he says... people need to chill.

I think Sir Charles Drunkley is an annoying, drunk old fool, but I can't condone throwing stuff at him. It's much more fun to laugh at him, which is sad but it is what it is. At least when I'm old and people are laughing at me I won't be on national TV.

I'd watch Ernie, Kenny, and Barkley talk basketball all day long. Stephen A Smith, on the other hand, is unbearable.
