    Mantra 102 182 swap

I have a pair of Mantra 102’s 184 still in the plastic. I bought them at the end of last season. If anyone has a new one in a 177 that wants to size up let me know
    Edit 184

I think those are 184. They did not make 182. Although the 177 actually measures about 182. Which makes your 184's more like a true 189.

Tldr they ski long. Good skis though, I like mine for low tide Big Sky.

FWIW, the M102 is the easiest skiing 184 Mantra iteration while still retaining the classic stability and power. If you are over 150-lbs, don’t be afraid of the 184.

I agree and I am sure that I will be fine at 160 lbs . Only caveat 80-20 East coast - west coast and if no takers I am mouthing them with demo bindings to find the sweet spot.
Blister review spooked me a little.

I grabbed both lengths of the M102 and don't know which to sell. 5'9", 167. Blister calling the 184 a "comp ski" gives me pause.

Currently on the 2013 177 Mantra for no new snow, had the 184 length but it was too much in tight / narrow spots. Also have 2014 184 Katana, but the rocker helps it release more easily than the same era 184 Mantra.

    EDIT: Sold the 184's, 11/2021.

Fair enough, especially if you are in the east coast. I just re-read the Blister review and agreed with much of it and laughed at the comp ski comment. I agree that the M102 is ideal for comp ski conditions, but it would be one of the easiest skiing “comp” skis I could think of. It’s a powerful ski, but not super demanding and it has a huge sweet spot IMO.

As an aside, I’m going to enjoy telling my 155-lb 17-yo that he skis on a Blister-recommended “comp” ski.
