Y’all remember that dude who died on the Florida Trail after thru-hiking the AT from the Upstates and no one could figure out who he was for a few years (still may not know I think)?

What if this guy is just going in reverse? Easy to get lost in the Upstates.

They found out who he was. He was an oddball coder with pretty severe mental health issues.

While it might be easy for an individual to get “lost” in the upstates, us upstate folks can easily recognized a so-called “lost” person in our midst.

    You’re not wrong.

I’ve seen plenty in the Seneca Casino region. No affiliation to the area. Lost and out of place.

    And I’m not even Upstates.

was just an average guy many years ago
he was featured on one of those 2020 or dateline shows, turns out he was a retired nypd or nyfd pulling 100k a year early retirement disability due to a back injury they stalked him for a couple weeks showing him skiing snowmobiling and having a good ole time didn't go over well and he disappeared to somewhere else

Yup, we had a guy at the Taos shop who had wild California crime stories. Not a skier. Another guy, an Italian from Providence, no stories just a demeanor, also not a skier.

Lots of skitown people in the WPP.

    Nice pic B-cat.
Btw. I just picked up a pair of these from Heroic. Most comfortable gloves I've ever owned and the stingray leather pads are trick. I wanted to wear them to bed but the wife wouldn't let me.

Buddy who came camping with all of us last weekend had one of the more sweet enduro setups I've ever seen on his KTM.

Tent, bag, fishing poles, provisions all neatly packed into a very small and ergonomic saddle bags that he designed and manufactured (GaTech grad, go figure).

Told us stories of taking the KTM to the west coast and back on the TransAm Trail last year. Epic shit.

^ the 14-year-old in me is seriously jealous. that was just IT in the day. I mean, IT.

Interestingly, IT morphed quickly with driver's licenses to Jeep CJ-5s THE vehicle of choice if yer family had $$. Ours did not.

While I now have a FZ6 i go get the mail on (maybe a gallon of milk once in a while), mah buddy from those days has a fully restored '81 CJ-5
