Of course Knight had the advantage that he wasn't the subject of a massive manhunt.

This klown grew up during the social media explosion. The hermit was just getting away from it all, teh (possible) murderer isn't cut from the same cloth.

Yeah, I agree with this. Seems like the trail would be weird place to go if he was trying to avoid people. I think he got to where he needed to hole up fairly quickly and is sitting tight. He probably has cash left from what he drained from his and Gabbys accounts, and wouldn’t be entirely surprised if the parents made some cash withdrawals before he left as well.
The parents admitted yesterday that he actually went missing a day earlier than they previously told police.

This, taken with my earlier question of "why keep paying a lawyer to put out statements if the guy is dead?" My not so reckless speculation is that they're guilty as fuck in aiding him and know that he's off the grid somewhere.
Also, interesting info on the Tenkara setup, I'll have to look into that. Thanks Mags.I still call it The Jake.

I just read Eric Rudolph’s Wikipedia page.
He survived off grid for 5 years with help from his family. The craziest part has to be his brother videotaping himself cutting his own hand off with a radial arm saw “to send a message to the FBI.”

Love me some tenkara. I'm a total hack fisherman so tenkara helps me to declutter and just cast. I can go from all packed up while walking to the stream to actually fishing in less than 2 minutes. Plus it's mostly one handed, as I don't catch too many fish, so I don't have to set my beer down. Kids love it too...

Big city is the way to go. You can go by a million people in a day and not be seen by a single person.
Pro tip - don't make eye contact.

WHATA THE FUCKA IS A TENKARA ?
never heard of it.
Feel sad after researching it.
A $170 stick and string?
Civilization is doomed.
I thought playing a fish was half the fun.
And casting was the other half.. . .

What's up with noodling catfish anyway? Just once I'd like to see a video where one of those rednecks finds a cottonmouth or snapping turtle instead..
Go that way really REALLY fast. If something gets in your way, TURN!

Someone here posted a video of this coed smokeshow who noodles and I have to say, the sport from that perspective is compelling.

I fished with a bamboo pole in our little pond a bunch when I was a kid. Had a half whiskey barrel by the house with tons of earthworms in it that we could always poach some easy bait from. Got a little bigger and used to shoot turtles in the same pond with the 410, ostensibly to keep them from eating all the fish. Those were good times...

I'm confused about Tenkara. So you can stick up your ass and also catch fish w/ it?

I wouldn't exactly call spook "wise," but I suppose he was right in this instance. Just seems like another way to add coliform bacteria to our waterways.

It's 400 year old Japanese creek fishing and it is fun as shit in mountain lake inlet/outlets and creeks. You can buy a pole for $20 that telescopes down to a foot. It's extremely light weight so you can throw it in your pack backpacking even if you might not use it. Since you can't cast far your approach is critical so you don't spook em (hiding behind rocks and trees, crawling on your stomach). Really fun and challenging.
