I blew a flat in the middle of a an interstate in South Carolina this summer and forgot what a fun experience changing a tire at dawn on a crowded highway can be.



No way. Ohio drivers are the worst. 55 in the passing lane? You got it. See signs like this all over? Not for me pal, I’m doing the speed limit and I can drive wherever I want. Also, one-meeelllion state troopers. Fuck that.

Been telling her for years that those 2 lanes of 95 and 26 were the worst stretch of driving I have ever experienced in my lengthy history of traversing this fine nation, mostly due to the slow left lane and the passing on the right. I felt vindicated. She was even more annoyed than usual.

That's almost exactly where I blew the tire 26 and 95. The South is fantastic generally when it comes to driving - hammer down and stay to the right; 80mph gets you passed. GA's keep out of the passing lane law has been in effect for a year or so now and they publicize its enforcement; brings a tear to my eye.

Like entering some fresh kind of hell, the minute you cross the I-75 bridge over the Ohio River the entire system of decent societal rules of driving go out the window. Feel free to sit in that left lane doing 5-10 under the limit. When you approach someone and expect them to get over so you can pass they motion for you to go around. It's really neat on interstates with two lanes and the campers think its cool to run a moving roadblock next to a semi for miles. Fuck those fucks.

SC is absolutely atrocious. NC is smooth fkn sailing. NASCAR state lives up to its name. Cept for stretches of 95. But on 40, especially west of Greensboro, you better be doing 15 over in the left lane or prepared to have a 2500 do some Ricky Bobby shit around your ass on the right.
