How are things skiing in Banff right now? Visiting in laws in Calgary and have Ikon. Thinking Sunshine Monday/Tuesday and Louise later in the week. Looks like light snow most of the week. Dust on crust?

^^^ yeah I would guess dust on crust.

Stuff that is truly north facing that didn't get baked is your best bet until the sun comes back out to make some more corn.

I.e. louise will probably be better than sunshine, IMO.

    Dust on crust.

Back bowls were still playing like March, but the untracked spots I found were turning into cement and having snow stick to the bases was confirming that I really should wax soon. The snow that was falling was pellets..

Skied LL yesterday and SV the day before. LL front side quite icy (including ptarmigan and larch), pockets of soft snow in the back bowls off Paradise and Summit chairs.

SV skied a lot better but had 6cm from the night before (vs 2cm at LL for the same period), we looked leeward for wind deposits.

Thanks to OP for great info and Stewy30 for connection for discounted KH tickets

Skied LL Friday/Sat - Ate shit on boundry bowl on cement. Spent rest of the weekend cruising the blues and finding pockets of powder. Juniper was pretty much the only run that wasn't straight ice crust.

Another great day in the K.
The textures in this one are amazing.

This could be the cover of some ski bum's one man atmospheric black metal album.

Which will be worse on Friday, Sunshine or Louise? Did Sunshine Monday and it was surprisingly good. I expect both will be crowded with the Good Friday crowds.

Nailed it. No lines at LL though the snow is icy front side. Skiing nice off the top.

Can anyone use free child (6-12) lift tickets for Fernie or kicking horse this weekend? I’m in calgary and have two cards that have two days each. Didn’t realize it’s closing weekend. Should have posted this earlier.

Closed out Panorama today with some smooth, sunny groomers. Unfortunate that they are shutting down when there’s still plenty of skiing left, but people’s thoughts in the Valley have switched over to bikes and golf.

Enjoy your day tomorrow! Haven’t skied LL much this year, but Summit - back bowls to paradise chair, are almost always a good choice.

see what the wind did last night and follow that. Overall laps up summit, down whitehorn 2 A-E and back up paradise are good options. Check out west bowl as well. Also laps in ER6,7 are fun options
