My dad served with 2 of the 3 mountain commando groups in the ETO after they trained along with the 10th for combat missions on skis. 1st Special Service Force and the Norwegian American 99th Inf. Btn. (Separate) so it's been on my radar for a while. The Marines are buying a ton of these

Back before fat skins, I remember folks splitting skins to get grip near the edges.
You could use two of these per ski.. . .

I’d certainly sign up for 8 or ten pairs if someone went for it.

1500 Pairs of Climbing Skins
Those skins are dog shit! I used to work at the mountain warfare training center teaching skiing and those are garbage. They should pay whoever is willing to take that pallet off their hands.
They use a wax-less ski now, it has scales on the camber/kick zone and has a snowboard like binding. Hence why they are scraping those

I guess black diamond made some military skis as well, and they were supplied with your choice of bindings:

I thought that these were mohair so I bought a pair, but they were nylon so I returned them. Very stiff skins. Maybe they'd break in.
