OMG. I would've freaking lost it by now. You have the patience of a saint, my good man. I've only had dorm life when in military tech school, but that was easy as anything because weekly/random inspections would keep most everyone in line. My roommate was clean and respectful. We had zero issues.

Time to start messing with this guy. Harmless stuff at first, of course. Maybe get him into Pokemon Go and tell him you heard there was some rare things to capture on the other side of town that he needs to go search for. Or get him into geocaching. ANYTHING to get him out of there. Doesn't he have studying to do or something? Either school is REALLY easy these days, or he's not gonna survive the semester. Good luck, mang.

That sucks SUF...I had a similar roommate my first semester of college. I think I made it about a month before I told my RA I can't room w/ this guy any more. Seemed like a few spots opened up as people dropped out during the first semester. I was able to get a room w/ friends down the hall. Hopefully you have a good RA or someone else who can help. Plant the bug in their ear now so they can place you if/when something opens. Get to know other people in the dorms so you have options.

Don't get me wrong, I fucked with the guy a bit cause he deserved it. In the end it was being professional and talking w/ my RA about how this guys lifestyle is messing up my education that got me out of the situation.

Pretty sure my first roommate only made it through another semester after I moved out.

They'll ignore it at first, so you have to follow up with these pictures every week.

As kids drop off they'll find you an upgrade which will probably be in more desirable location since yours sucks, and hopefully a single.

By October you'll have a new room.
