All good. Best of luck with Bunion and Wooley pwning those conspiracy theorists. Post some of the more outrageous things you read. I liked the one that started "Does anyone else suspect that their EBT card has a tracking device implanted? I purchased some items ( I'm assuming those items were cheesy puffs) and I experienced a sensation in my wallet that made me think there was geo tracking coming from my EBT card".

Has there been a greater and more harmful mass delusion in recent history? I don't think McCarthyism rises to the same level. Those people weren't willing to potentially die in a very awful and painful way, just to prove their theories.

    Frick and Frack.

That FB page is insane but so is the country. The mama bear mode is a real thing to be aware of. I'm not going to reply or post anything there today to keep a low profile. I'm thinking of posting a plea to pray for my 12 y o nephew with Covid.

I have to say that even trolling and mirroring the stupidity has a more negative impact in the long term.
The more people hear the echoes in their chamber, the more names, faces, posters they see in their "community" the more secure and comforted they feel that they are part of the real world and a larger majority/minority to reinforce their beliefs.
The even more insane shit you may post as ironic actually solidifies their belief that they are more moderate and sensible as in: ""well, i don't believe that crazy stuff" from the people who believe the really crazy stuff.
Do what you want, no minds will be changed, but I'd rather leave them to die on the vine and only hear the small, sick sounds of their own insanity in the echo chambers.

    That's a perfect take. ^^

Probably a waste of a great quote here but anyway:

FWIW, my intention was never to troll with false info. A few truthful hyperboles maybe. i.e. There are certainly 12 year olds sick with coved right now. But none are my nephew. My 14 y o nephew is sick but the covid test hasn't come back.

    Legit. Why perpetuate the parinoia?

I mean, I get it.. these assholes are fun to fuck with.

But you have to consider that the trolling is reinforcing / firing them up and encouraging more anger.

It's fun, but is it worth it to play into their game where all they're looking for is someone to argue with?

    I’m agreeing with you.

These people aren’t trollable, would likely cause more harm than good.

Telling a toddler Santa is dead is funny for a minute but in the long run that poor kid may have some issues.

they aren't looking for anyone to argue with. they make that expressly clear. at least in their little circle jerk.

i don't know, i'm going back and forth about the whole thing. i do know that i am simply unable to operate covertly and agree with anything they are saying without spewing something absolutely absurd that gets me banned.

So my response to a post asking about lying to get a religious waver was.

Might want to think before possibly committing a felony by lying on a government application. The form needs to be signed by a medical professional. Forging a name is illegal to but I am not a lawyer.

    You make very valid points.
And it is stuff I have thought about.

    Counter points:
-SUF's Chimp anus comments were quite likely the reason they moved their group from public to private. At least that will slow the ease with which they spread their disinformation and plan events. The alone makes it worth it in my mind.

-I don't think there is any changing of the extreme jut jobs on there. My hope is that by posing obviously absurdist comments about Chimp anuses and "Congressman Daniel Crenshaw wears an eye patch. That's basically a face mask. He's a commmie, we should deport him" would make some of the 'salvagable' ones ('slight' nut jobs?) feel shame for the company they are keeping and question their movement.

I really wish I could pretend they don't exist. I certainly know that normal dialogue/debate is completely pointless (see: all the posts with Ron Johnson and Core Shot).

Anyhow, i respect your comments. we're living in weird times. I wish I could just ski and pretend these people don't exist.

    Agreed on first point.
Agreed on point 2.1. Wishful thinking on pt 2.2, no shame.

I would like to re-edit my original post to begin with "I feel..." As 1) it's just my opinion, not facts and 2) I have no idea how these folks operate and what makes them tick.
