    I’m booked into Japan in January and haven’t received any official word that the border won’t open by then. Doesn’t look good but not cancelled yet.

    Euro BBI would be an amazing linked recovery

    Reminder, this is worth it for more than 2 days, the half price pass.

    Costs about $50 but saves half off of variable priced tickets which go up to $90 on weekends.

    Also recommend, get a Rega card :

    If anything goes south in the Swiss bc, one of these $40 cards pays for the heli ride out.

    You've said that a phone with service is a necessity? I'm just wondering why, I kind of like being contact free. Need it to arrange shuttles or something?

    To keep in touch with the others in the group. These places are huge and it’s easy to end up a long ways away from eachother.
    Everyone needs to get the REGA card. Cheap insurance if you get hurt off the piste. Anything not groomed or marked, 90% of the terrain, is your responsibility.

    0) To keep in touch with others. It's the Alps, they're big and getting separated might be nicht zer gut. We coordinate taxis or shuttles with some parts of the group doing slope stuff and the rest of us wandering off. For example, St. Moritz, it's huDge and if various parties head in different directions, we'll need to coordinate driving back to Rueras or finding the van. [ ;-) ]

    1) To report a problem, coverage in the Alps is excellent, best mechanism to hail for assistance if it's needed.

    Copy. I have ATT and with their stupid international plan it’s $10 for everyday I come off of airplane mode. I’ve gone up to 18 days without service in other countries just on principle.

    I can text you guys using WhatsApp from my room to coordinate dinner time

    Speaking of coordination, maybe we could start a list of who will be at the lodge and when? Myself and criscam are still trying to decide what, if any nights will be in bc huts, and what nights will be at Vendul’s place. But the range is 3/4 - 3/10.

    Something like this is probably better for roaming, depending on your carrier.

    Or just get a cheap second sim at Aldi (not 100% sure that they do mobile Services like they do in Germany) if your mobile Supports it.
    If not, still get the Aldi (or any cheap Swiss with data )and switch back after skiing.
    It's a war of the mind and we're armed to the teeth.

    My plan charged $10 a day and I would do it again. Small price to pay for smoother communication and out of bounds safety.

    My head is exploding!

    I'm in, and it's still sinking in. I am so thrilled to have been chosen to join you mags in Switzerland for these shenanigans. It was not in my sights but has been an aspiration for a long time.
    I can't imagine a better way to experience the Euro ski scene than with knowledgable Mags, at a hometown Mag run lodge in the Alps.

    Excited is an understatement...

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~`
    Getting my ducks in a row asap, gonna expedite a passport today, make reservations at Vendul's place, get my half off card and Rega affiliation squared away and anything else I can come up with.
    I can't wait to ski you mags and magettes, March won't arrive soon enough for this mag.
    Stoked!
    Thanks to Buster and all who made this happen. It's an impressive phenomenon that such a thing can happen, here online, between a bunch of like minded snow enthusiasts.
    I raise my glass to all of you!
    If I can talk my wife out of MT., I may join at the 11th hour. Doubt it though
    Well damn. Staying at Vendul’s place on the 9th? I think the 9th is probably our last night at the lodge due to an early flight out of Zurich the 11th.
    So ski the 10th, take a train to the airport, get a nearby hotel that night.
    The Movenpick was super great to me and the shrooms in the covid cluster of 2020, it's close to the airport, a 17chf for 2 shuttle away.
    Yep, that’s the plan. Will you be skiing with us on the 10th? I owe you a beer on a deck somewhere for all of the beta.
    We’ll look into the Movenpick, bookmarked on Kayak.
    I want it embroidered on a hat with rainbow thread.
    Seriously -- if you make these sell them as a fundraiser for BBIEuro beer fund. Would love one.
