EUROBBI2022 MARCH 1-20 2022 MOUNTAIN LODGE SEDRUN, SWITZERLAND
Set the controls for the heart of the Alps, the madness and camaraderie of lot4 is converging once again on https://www.mt-lodge.com/ from points across the globe during the interval of March 1-20, 2022.
Hosted by vendul and his comely consort, mt-lodge will provide the launchpad for celestial ski trajectories across a galaxy of Europow stashes. Andermatt is the Alta of Yurp, but with no boundary ropes.
It's inexpensive relative to North American ski costs and so much easier to travel where the Swiss airports of Zurich and Geneva have train stations in their basements.
And the trains have ski racks.
There's kilometer upon kilometer of groomers, wads of incredibly cool old huttes for coffee, wine or lunches along the way.
But the sidecountry is just unmatched with long untracked descents ending at old rathskellars near a train station or taxi back to the lodge.
For any hardcore skier, doing the Alps is a must and this is the best and easiest way to do it.
The lodge is based in Rueras, here center right of the SkiArena, 20+ miles across of runs, interconnected by lifts and a train, all on 1 ticket. Andermatt on the left, Disentis on the right.

The lodge:
Looks like flights are around $700 rt to Zurich from the West coast. Plan on $100 transfers from the airport to mt-lodge, vendul will update room costs, but that will be around $95/day for a room for 1 or 2, $180 for 4 people. See website.
In the past, mt-lodge has been the hub for activities ranging from skiing in the Andermatt-Disentis SkiArena where day lift tickets vary between $20/day and $60 as well as caravaning with fellow miscreants to St. Moritz for a day of primo sidecountry or doing classic 8000 kft vertical descents. Hopefully some of those participants will chime in.
I'll be doing some rage around Yurp as well and hopefully meeting up with k00ks from across the world at mt-lodge as well as some other potential locales. I've been trying to do a traverse from Davos to Lenzerheide via Arosa for a few years now. Hopefully that will come together this year. This is also less than 2 hours from mt-lodge:

Stoke!!
Mrs SL and I are out this year; logistics of international travel (with airlines who can’t figure out their shit) with a 1 year old seemed far fetched!
Have a blast all!

Probably out this year (blowing my wad on a week-long lvl 2 hut trip in British Columbia) -- but this is certainly my fave ski trip of all time. The skiing is incredible. Euro-trains, coffee, food are all aces. The hosts and lodging couldn't be more my ideal.
If you haven't yet -- do it. If you have -- do it again.

If you are going to sign up for one away from home, this is the one. I just may drop my Frau off at the in-laws and make this trip.

If Japan still isn’t open for my trip in January… I’ll hope Switzerland is by March. Stacking both trips would be a dream… and an expensive ticket to divorce!

If I go on a trip that involves getting on a plane, this is definitely the one I want to go on. Fingers crossed

Sorry boys but this has been an incredibly tough year for me and due to recent circumstances I will not be able to attend this most exuberant event. Those of you that do go will have an experience that will last forever, I promise.

Honestly man, if things break right for ya…
Jun 2020 - Jun 2021 was the WORST 12mos of my life. Every fucking thing, from big to small was collapsing around me…. I’m hoping for a turn-around.
I don’t know if I’ll be able to swing it, but saw this thread and thought: I’m gonna try…bc I need something awesome.
Will keep following with positive attitude…and hopin things break right for me too!
Sorry everyone….this thread is going off in a weird direction. More past photos to pull us all back in the right direction, please!
Sent from my iPad using TGR ForumsIt makes perfect sense...until you think about it.
I suspect there's logic behind the madness, but I'm too dumb to see it.

Can confirm that this area of the alps is legit and where I've spent my last two years skiing. Incredible terrain, good snow and chill vibes.
Hopefully I can make it this year, not sure with a new baby.
