That should work if you can come a few days early. Holidays are 28th to 5th. If there is pow I'll hopefully be chasing it.

Welp, definitely subscribed. Currently figuring out my winter bumming plans and this looks like it would be a nice trip too. Looking forward to seeing if it's feasible.

It's lots cheaper than skiing in North America and blows away any N.Am ski area.
Budget $200 per day for lodging, food and lift tickets and you'll be fine. Bar tabs can drive your expenses up.

As far as 2023 goes, I'm planning on it as well.

The main event will be at venduls place, MountainLodge-Sedrun, but there are discussions ongoing about a few days jaunt to other spots as well.
Likely Klosters as in previous years.
St. Anton, St. Moritz, Alagna and La Grave have been tossed around as possibles.

This season still seems a bit touchy for planning an International trip but glad to hear about 2023 plans to look forward to. Watching re-runs of Rick Steves can only keep me going so long…
Although my inlaws are set to depart for their biking trip in Croatia in 2 wks so I will be interested to see how that goes. My husband is more against getting on planes right now

Swiss stayed open all last winter... so i think the same will happen this season. Why. Maybe subtle can answer this? I guess whole europe and a good part of the world has parked its illegal wealth there. So closing the boards would cut people off their funds.... that's my fantasy....

I really don’t think Switzerland will close anything, that has always been the policy here and there’s no sign that they want to change their plans.

So, to make sure the ski season won't have major problems, starting monday there will be some new "guidelines". Basically a Covid pass (vaccinated) will be required to enter restaurants and this will probably apply to ski resorts as well.

I was looking at flights the other day and this is keeping me from booking. Based on Vendul’s subsequent posts seems like everything will be ok…but there’s still the voice in my head saying: 2022 travel restrictions imminent!

Travel to the US from Switzerland is currently blocked. It wasn't a few weeks back and likely won't be for too much longer. Hard to keep track of the always changing rules. Proof of vacation starting to make things easier.

Ski areas will be open. Switzerland proved last year nobody catches covid riding lifts. Après ski is another story.

Ill be coming from western ch, at least for a long weekend, hopefully for a week, dates TBD.

Easy. They wanted me to ski after the black forest had melted and I dared to crossthe border. Because I'm more importanter than everyone else.

For the early arrivers: I'll be skiing the week from 28th of February to March 5th. Depending on snow. Probably from home or the rv. Not necessarily in Sedrun though as I'm a really bad snow snob.

what i see happening the last weeks is.
if a country is declared high insistence by the eu, they are issuing a travel ban, but you can still travel but have to quarantine for 14days can reduce to 5days after showing a negative PCR test from day 5.
OR HAVE A VALID VACCINATION CERTIFICATE

so i guess we will see this happening in Winter. so no problem if you have a vaxx-card.
Portugal - Spain - Montenegro - Albania got declared to high insistence areas this summer.

i know there is still variables but tourists are welcome specially if they are vaxxed.
