Crazy that as much money as the Olympics generate the athletes get squat. A gold medal should have a purse of at least $500k. I could see a tiered system where the more obscure Gold medals are worth $500k, Silver $250 and Bronze $100k. The really popular sports double that. Instead the IOC sucks it all up.
