    Weather warfare & weather modification

Is anyone paying attention? You don’t need tinfoil to open your eyes
    Crazy Hail.
    Snow in deserts
    Wtf
This is just the latest. In July. In Mexico.

It’s not hard to control weather today.
We did it 50 years ago

So did Trump drop the nuke into the hurricane?

Interestingly the same people who think climate change is a hoax by evil scientists "who want our trucks and guns and hate freedom" or that "we cannot influence gods mighty clouds", are sure that influencing a much more complex and chaotic System AD hoc (as opposed to just injecting more heat into it long term) is totally reasonable if some secret George soros pizza Satanist is behind it. (And by influencing I don't mean seeding clouds to save our great communist olympics)

You realize that 2 years ago they had a hail storm that dumped 3’ of hail? Or that hail storms almost only occur in the summer? Or that this city is at over 2,000 meters? Or that high elevation locations in Mexico have a long history of hail storms?

    Maybe it’s the aliens.

Maybe it is just unlikely weather.

It definitely isn’t someone forcing the weather to form an extreme hail storm.

Producing a weather System with massive Cape and windshear ( is that the Word?)resulting in supercells on point would be quite a feat.

An amusing thread to be sure. Intense weather events in the last couple of years have caused massive floods in China, extensive wildfire in Russia, drought enhanced famine in N Korea…the list goes on, and is global incl NA of course. So do the conspiracy theorists have to focus on little green men from another galaxy? Or?

When they have drunk the blood and shredded the secret stashes of some old grumpy locals.

But they'll only do it at the mega resorts with real estate possibilties. If Bill Gates Haarp 5g Chips let them....

I read a biography last year of Kurt Vonnegut and his brother, who worked on cloud seeding research for GE.

Kurt Vonnegut’s science-fiction novel “Cat’s Cradle” revolves around a tricky compound called ice-nine that can turn water solid at room temperature. Vonnegut, who worked for GE in the 1950s as an in-house journalist, came up with many beautifully outlandish plots for his best-selling books. But ice research was hitting close to his beat as well as his home.

That’s because at the time, another member of his family was employed by GE — his brother, the physicist Bernard Vonnegut. Bernard, together with Nobel laureate Irving Langmuir and atmospheric scientist Vincent Schaefer, formed a crack research team looking for ways to control the weather and even break up hurricanes. In 1946, Schaefer made history when he flew into a cloud in a small plane in upstate New York and set off the world’s first artificial snowfall with a bag of dry ice. He became known as the Snow Man.

The research, which GE called “Project Cirrus,” was serious business. It grew out of the company’s study of thin ice layers that sometimes coated aircraft wings and crippled planes during World War II. The company is now using supercomputers to attack the problem. Many machines that operate in cold environments could benefit from resisting ice, including wind turbines.

    ...

Perhaps the most daring part of the project took place during the 1947 hurricane season in the skies off the coast of Florida and Alabama. On Oct. 13, the team spotted a storm that “consisted of an eye of approximately 30 miles in diameter, surrounded by a thick wall of clouds extending from about 800 feet up into the cirrus overcast at 20,000 feet, and some 30-50 miles thick,” according to a witness account.

The team loaded the modified B-17 seeding plane with dry ice and sent up another B-17 to record the operation. There was also a larger B-29 bomber as the control aircraft with Schaefer on board. Although they steered clear of the eye of the storm, they dropped 80 pounds of dry ice along a 110-mile track while circling the hurricane at 19,200 feet. “No attempt was made to penetrate through the wall of the storm into the eye or to seed in or near the squall line, owing to the failure of the group’s homing aids (radio, compass, and visual flares),” the observer reported. “It was thought that such an attempt, although desirable, would likely result in a separation of the aircraft, with subsequent abortion on the primary mission.”

Still, Schaefer, who was ensconced in the relative safety of the B-29, saw “many suitable clouds for seeding operations to occur in this type of hurricane. … Owing to the complex structure of this ‘old’ storm, it is believed that a ‘young’ hurricane would provide much more satisfactory data for estimating the effect of seeding operations.” Langmuir added: “The stakes are large … I think we should be able to abolish the evil effects of these hurricanes.”

And guess what it never worked. It was at the same time in the 20th century When they thought it would be a great idea to warm the Alaskan Tundra with nuclear Bombs.

The cloud seeding worked, but it's a small scale thing. The nuke into the hurricane comment reminded me of that book, I'll see if I still have it. I remember the description of the seeding attempt bring slightly humorous.

Of course it works. At a small scale. Seeding small CBs before they reach the olympic stadium.(hence my comment about the moscow olympics where our communist friends did that to prove the sumpremacy of the sovjet way. )
Not in fucking hurricanes which use magnitudes more Power from the ocean heat. It's like trying to stop a large wildfire with a soda gun from the cocktail Bar.

We have hail Flyers here in Germany and their effect is close to Zero in established thunderstorms. The idea that that could work in hurricanes which literally consist of hundreds of very large storm cells is actually kind of bizarre.

^^^ solid points. The energy needed to create a hailstorm like the record breaker in Mexico would be unreal. Sure you can get some clouds to produce rain but create a massive hailstorm, cmon.

There was a cool hail event in Compton a few years ago.

Granted, ocean iron fertilizing is intriguing but wow, if it goes even slightly haywire .......... bad situation becomes worse.

It’s all tinfoil. Nothing to worry about. Move along.

    It’s only cnn fake news
China this week revealed plans to drastically expand an experimental weather modification program to cover an area of over 5.5 million square kilometers (2.1 million square miles) -- more than 1.5 times the total size of India.

According to a statement from the State Council, China will have a "developed weather modification system" by 2025, thanks to breakthroughs in fundamental research and key technologies, as well as improvements in "comprehensive prevention against safety risks."
In the next five years, the total area covered by artificial rain or snowfall will reach 5.5 million sq km, while over 580,000 sq km (224,000 sq miles) will be covered by hail suppression technologies. The statement added that the program will help with disaster relief, agricultural production, emergency responses to forest and grassland fires, and dealing with unusually high temperatures or droughts.
China has long sought to control the weather to protect farming areas and to ensure clear skies for key events -- it seeded clouds ahead of the 2008 Beijing Olympics to reduce smog and avoid rain ahead of the competition. Key political meetings held in the Chinese capital are notorious for enjoying beautiful clear skies, thanks both to weather modification and the shutting down of nearby factories

80% chance this bankrupts the CCP, leading to peasant/middle class riots and revolution.
20% chance it works and we all become weather slaves to our new overlords.

I've been that ocean iron fertilization should be viable for some time, what would happen if it goes haywire? And how would it go haywire?

^^Isn't that based more on Nitrogen and Phosphorus in runoff though, not Iron?

Well the idea is to encourage algae growth, death and decay in what currently amount to natural dead zones. Toxic algae blooms in vital areas rob aquatic life of oxygen and are obviously detrimental but in essentially lifeless areas mid-ocean I don't get what they'd hurt.
