Given all the bikers here, maybe we need a bike forum. What should we call it?
Best brake continues to be formula R0s if you can find a used set, but we have bikes in the quiver with recent SRAM and Shimano and they’re fine. Not great but fine.

Is this the correct place to tell the story of a brake bleed gone terribly wrong a few weeks back or should I wait for this new purple bike forum? Drinking beers in my buddys garage, he drained the old fluid into an empty bottle and put it on the workbench. 30 seconds later I grabbed the brake fluid bottle instead of my beer and took a nice solid swig. I Don’t recommend drinking old brake fluid, but he was running sram guides - maybe used fluid from shimano tastes better?

You drank brake fluid from a SRAM brake? That's automotive DOT 3 fluid.
Call poison control.

Whoa dood! I think shimano mineral is harmless. Real oil(sram) wouldnt be good. Maybe enough beerz washed it down. Vibes

This is why I always make sure to have very different drinking vessels than anything used for brake fluid/lube/suspension fluid/oil.

Good catch.Doesnt sound like its something to ingest. Tingly for a few days would have me concerned. Fuck!!
Might have to take this to the "expert" thread . All the brake whisperer experts check for brake seal wear with a shot of spent brake fluid, based on level of rubbery taste. Damian Sanders could probably tell what wheelsize

Update on MTX Red: Rode a couple laps of Downieville with them and no issues with fade, noise, etc. still all good. Will likely try Shimano metallics when I need new pads - just for comparison, and assuming they’re back in stock - but still happy with MTX for now.
