Soooooo, After 24 Years in the Fire Service, I am Retiring Today....

Man, life is a trip. I don't even know what to say....I would like to thank all of you kooks for your support, insight, and laughs over the years, and am really looking forward to meeting some of you IRL in the near future...I joined my Department on September 22, 1997, as a member of the Fighting 58th Cadet Class, and now my time is done. I know there are Mags hear that are either currently on the Job, or have done it in the past, so thank you guys for your service. I'm pretty fucking emotional right now. It is so surreal. Anyone that ever comes through the Q, hit me up. I'll be poolside!

Congratulations to you!! Thanks for your service to the greater good. I can only imagine some of the stuff you've seen in 24 years of rescue service. Have a great trip through the West in a few weeks. Enjoy your time and get some serious skiing in this coming season and beyond.

    Congrats brother

Is 24 years maxed out, or are you leaving early?

I've got 17 years on the job but I'm planning on leaving before I'm maxed out (which doesn't happen till 30 years here). So whats on the agenda now?

Retirement is weird when you're used to the yoke. I hope the pension makes it easier.

Thanks DJ! Here in NM, we max out at 25, so I'm close....I'm gonna do a solid ninety days of nothing, go on my VisionQuest, and focus on my family. As you know, it's been hard on them for sure.....Stay safe brother, it goes by in the blink of an eye......

24 years as a public servant, FKNA. That's a good run.
Hopefully your 21/22 winter is filled with pow chasing to the Sangres and San Juans!
