Got some 30 yo Grahams Tawny in the Cabinet. Spent some time at Ferreira Cellars in Porto way back when. Highly recommended. No need for a BMW though. A Fiat Panda should suffice.

Hey, at least every Thursday night there's bloody cabaret in the bar featuring some tiny emaciated dago with nine-inch hips and some big fat bloated tart with her hair Brylcreemed down and a big arse presenting Flamenco for Foreigners.

Then they throw up all over the Cuba Libres. And once a week there's an excursion to the local Roman ruins to buy cherry-aide and melted ice cream and bleeding Watney's red barrel.

I love it. Not sure why. It doesn't seem to give me a headache though.

    Taylor fladgate 2017, 2016, 2007, 1997. Ferreira 2016, Warres 2016 and 2017.

I really want to get a port ring and be able to cut the top of the bottle off with a feather.

Tawny - Graham’s and Dow the older the better but nothing crazy. Van zellers 10 yr. marshmallow, toasted caramel. My fave for the winter in the hot tub.

Ruby - Fonseca all the way. We had a shop that had lots of old old ports that were bought as part of all the inventory. Raisiny, currant flavors.

Good for special events but always be ready to decant over several hours and be ready for possible disappointment since that old stuff can go real wrong. Our shop sold us maybe 6-7 bottles over time and took back 2 that went south.

I can take it or leave it, sort of like a Hershey bar, but I have a friend who drinks a bottle of Taylor 10 year every night. Literally.

That’s the problem with port right? Buy a $75 bottle of wine then wait 25 years. Right now I’m buying shit I shouldn’t drink until I’m in my 60s which is wild. I’m 36.

Kinda thread drift, anyone made a lot of Suburbans (the cocktail, 3 parts rye, one part dark rum, N.E. part port, plus bitters)? I’m going to barrel ahead a 5l batch so I need a liter of port. Debating whether I should use ruby or tawny and how pricy to go if tawny? Will it matter that I use a 10 year over a 30 when in a cocktail?

I would use a ruby, fruitier more flavor forward. Seems a bit of a waste for an aged tawny, especially a 30 yr.
