I haven't used them, but I have checked them out at the local shop. They look pretty sweet, and I'm a little jealous of the range of attachments.

You know the Expand-It line of attachments has been around for probably 25 years, right? Cross compatible with pretty much any manufacturer of electric or gasser power heads with a split boom. I.E. Ryobi, Toro, Echo, DeWalt.....

I just finished completely converting. Kept a Stihl 026 saw and M55 garden tiller. Just can’t seem to quit having those two. And the electric saw is great.

Yeah, most brands have a similar 1, 2, or 3 gallon cordless portable wet/Dry vac. You definately want to buy within your cordless battery ecosystem. Project Farm or one of the other tool test channels did a comparison. The Rigid 3 gallon was tops. Ryobi in the middle of the pack and Dewalt left them limp.

I get that the battery is across the tool set. I have also gone over to the Milwaukee system last year. Drill, impact wrench, oscillating tool, and 3.25” planer so far, have three 3ah batteries, and the planer has a 6Ah, for which I just picked up a second 6Ah. Very happy so far with team red.
But for now the larger amp devices that would necessitate a bigger battery pack, I’ll stick with my old corded tools (hammer drill, saws, shop vacs, grinders, etc).

The replacement ego batteries stung a bit, but I got four solid years out of the lawnmower one and three yrs out of the single-stage snowblower set. If I get this at least out of the new pair, especially with the wife willing to use the snowblower, I’ll call it good.

Battery power tools is the subscription model for home tools. More waste for the environment and profit for the corporations.

Gas mower would go through ~$5/wk, for approx 28wks each year. Over 4yrs that’s about $560. The (upgraded) battery just cost me $400+tx, and should last 4yrs. And much of the source material can be recycled. Sunk cost of the mower over time we will see, but it should last at least as long as the gas mower. Not sure the carbon cost of the battery mfg, but at least fewer emissions from an inherently inefficient ice. And that’s not adding in the snow blowing in the winter. Math works for me.

And pay a corp for gas (currently over $2/L for 91 here), or pay a corp for a battery. No getting out of that trap. Why do you hate capitalism?

I thoroughly dislike mowing the grass. I dislike it far less since getting an electric mower because it's not so damned noisy and I'm not breathing questionably combusted dinosaurs.

If there's a larger environmental benefit, great, but the localized benefit is enough to sell me. Not needing to deal with small engine maintenance is a small bonus on the lawnmower and a big one on my chainsaw (I don't use it often, and when I do, I just need to put a battery in, check the bar oil, and remember what the safety switches are).
