I've been doing a lot of gin this summer. I don't like tonic that much, but a gin and soda with a couple dashes of angostura is really refreshing.
Gin martini with a twist is my go-to before dinner cocktail.
For margs I like
2-1-1/2 ratio of a good blanco, gran marnier, and fresh lime juice. Stir, rocks, no salt (my personal preference). They are strong and not too sweet. Don't have more than two.
Shutting down the drinking for the fall, so I'm looking for good virgin cocktails that aren't super sweet. I like soda, lime, bitters, but would love other recs if people have them.

I usually stick with gin or tequila mixers, but I've been digging this one lately. For obvious reasons, I call it the Rainier:
2 oz bourbon (I like American Prairie by High West)
.5 oz maraschino cherry liqueur
Dash of vanilla cherry bitters
Ice & stir, strain, infuse with cherry smoke, and serve over fresh ice.

Summer is over
Pour some whiskey in a glass
Add ice and water to taste depending on proof, enjoy.

If you can't drink it neat, or with a couple DROPLETS of water, wtf good is it? Ice to numb the mouth so you can't taste it? Must be bourbon.

With a very active 2 year old my wife has started just pouring tequila in lemonade all slapdash and personally I think I like it better than a margarita.

Agree it makes a reasonable Perfect Manhattan but I was very disappointed in it neat; seemed weaker than its predecessor. And the new label seems dorky.
