Deceuninck does not have the legs to control the break tomorrow. No other teams will be working with them to keep the break from going out. It would be a different story if there teams had the same objective to keep the break close, but without Lotto was working for Ewan, FDJ working for Démare, Alpecin working for Merlier etc, there is no-one else who wants to control the front, and the other teams will back off and would let Deceuninck run them selves into the ground. They are strong, but they wont have (or dont want to waste the legs) tomorrow to control the break.

I get your and AC’s points

Ladbrokes has Cav to win at 11/4, with van Aert at 8/1, Colbrelli at 40/1 and Matthews at 50/1
    https://sports.ladbrokes.com/event/c...40/all-markets

I’m rooting for Colbrelli and Matthews to get into the break tomorrow. That should provoke a deceuninck response

    L. Hamilton out as well, that's 2 from Bike Exchange.
I've run out of changes and we've haven't even made it to the second rest day.

Ironically, I dumped Hamilton last night. Squirrels and nuts.

    Cav!

I thought 34 was to take the record, not tie it…so there’s still the Champs to take the exclusive lead. Seems hard to believe they can’t make it happen after that stage performance

Congrats to anyone who had Morkov in their team. He had got to be the highest scoring 6-point rider, probably higher scoring than any rider under 12-points. Kicking myself for sleeping on him

How on earth did I not take Morkov for 6 points? That was a no-brainer. Top 10 consistently. Top 5 often.

^how funny. Posted at the same time.

This year, it seems when I drop someone, they go in the break the next day....

2021 TDF Fantasy League SPOILER ALERT

Re: Morkov as a leadout sleeper pick…who even knew Cav still had legs? It seems he’s only here because the DS had attitude issues with Bennett. It’s just so random. Would Bennett have even picked up as many stages? Winning rider, for sure…but does he have Cav’s nose for the line…?
    Cool story for this TdF

Such a strange series of events led us to this situation. Cav's instincts are unmatched but Bennett is faster. Bennett getting dropped from the team resulting in Cav coming in with one of the best leadouts ever was such random chance, followed by Ewan crashing out on the first spring stage, Sagan getting injured, and Merlier and Demare missing the time cut weakening the sprint field. At this point there aren't competing sprinters with any kind of leadout train to support them. Colbrelli and Greipel might have similar speed to Cav but they have had terrible positioning in the finales.

Took mørkøv right at the start (and not Cav). For a final lead-out man, you're basically guaranteed top 10 regardless if Cav won or not... Little did I know Cav would be cleaning up.

One thing is still the same, Cav is still a dick.
He seems a little better this year, now that he realizes the sport has given him a second life/chance.
I did not pick him because (he’s a dick) I didn’t think he’d make it over some of those climbs. There are still some serious climbs to conquer before he claims the green jersey.

I made a decision early on not to chase Cav, not to chase the Ineos mystique and to choose guys who could sprint well, but were more likely to be involved in a power break like Asgreen or Mahoric. With only two sprint stages left, and 4 1/2 mountains stage left I think I'm well positioned with climbers and GC. We'll see.

2021 TDF Fantasy League SPOILER ALERT

This break is packed with hitters, exciting racing right now.

The paint jobs on those Trek’s might be the best I’ve ever seen. Those things glow like hot lava.

My fantasy tour has been a disaster so it's sweet to see a local guy make good.

Way to go Sepp Kuss, 1st American stage winner in 10 years.

My lead feels so tenuous. We're in the final stretch people!

16-17-18 all mountains. 16 could be a non-climber and will be unlikely to see a shakeup between positions 2-10 on GC. 17 has Pog written all over it. Same with 18 although it'll go to a pure climber either way. Some of the weaker top 10 on GC may slip on either 17, 18 or both (O'Conner, Martin, Lutsenko). FWIW, Kuss said he's done and will be dedicated to helping Vingegaar. Maybe Gaudu finds his legs? Polka battle could be interesting. Poels will be hard to unseat.

    19 is Cav again. Bor-ring

20 is Pog and maybe WVA. Kung may also take his revenge. Among GC contenders, Vingegaar, O'Connor and Keldeman will have their hands full to maintain their spots.

    21 is Cav again. Bor-ring
