But it's a French thing. In the last 26 years of the tour, there has been 15 French guys chosen.
It’s like their participation trophy…not good enough to win, but they try hard!

So for full disclosure, for Stage 19 Kat5 dropped Oss (6 points) to buy Morkov, and once she tried to select Morkov the game said "You can have more than 3 riders from the same team". From Deceuninck she already had Cav, Asgreen, and Cattaneo. So she was stuck trying to replace a 6 pointer.
No where in the rules does it state that you can't have more than 3 riders from the same team. If she had know that she would have dropped someone else to get different sprinter, or waited until stage 21 and bought Bonnamore.
She was pretty worked up about the rules not stating that.

I don’t want to see him crash out, cause that might take someone else out with him.
But I’d love to see him get pipped at the line, shattering his dream scenario.

So with Kat5, Kalisto and Team EPO all choosing Cavendish as their bonus racer, the only wildcard to change the final standings is how Morkov performs today.
Morkov needs 8 more points than W. Van Aert to gain a position in Green Jersey points, and to come 3rd or better in the intermediate sprint, and 3rd or better on the finish line.
If my math is correct that will give Kalisto enough points to take the overall from the reigning champion.

Technically, I finished at the bottom of the heap (thanks to JPH/HUCK flameouts) but I still took great pleasure in watching Cav lose that last stage.

Congrats to Mrs. Hubbs. Pretty sure I've still got your address to send the $$$.

    Thanks to all for playing!

Congrats Kat! Does this prove that Mrs. DH's Excel skills are superior to yours?

I think it's a little funny how everyone is MVDP this and MVDP that. He's obviously amazing, but let's acknowledge what WVA just did. Mountain stage, TT and sprint wins. Incroyable!

but i kinda think Pogacar is going to further lean in to his lead, if at all possible. His Sunday ride is a cool down, so this stage will be it...kinda talking myself into switching for Pog, lol

Eddy M riding in the team car for WVA’s iTT win, and then WVA denies Cav the outright most wins. Yeah, Belgium doesn’t play that. Try again next year, dick!

It's such a shit comparison. Yellow jerseys trump any number of stage wins.

    Yup
Cav was always pretty one-dimensional. Great in bunch sprints, with flat finishes, with a good lead out. The track racing background shows.
    He can’t climb
    He can’t TT
He can’t sustain long (or even short) breakaways.

And no way he would have won four stages if MVDP, Ewan, Sagan and Bouhanni had stayed to the end.

Kat5 has promptly taken $100 out of my wallet this morning.
PM me for PayPal or Venmo details, or if you’re old school like Garth Bimble a physical mailing address to send a crisp $10 bill in an envelope.

Thanks Garth Bimble for setting this up and getting it going every year.

Mrs Hubbs only picked 7 riders for stage 1 in 2020, and scored a zero that day, had to burn 2 trades before stage 2, and still won the overall last year…. just saying.
    It’s a competative household.
