    If you use credits to switch out a rider , do you give up the points they already earned?

    No. If Froome has earned me 500 points, and then I trade him out (why would I ever do that?) I keep those points.

    2021 TDF Fantasy League

    9 “flat” stages
    2 hilltop finishes
    2 individual time trials (1st on 5th stage; 2nd on 20th)
    8 mountainous stages (incl 3 summit finishes)

    Who is going to generate points regularly?
    My current scheme is heavy on sprinting…hmmm

    & the double Mt Ventoux in a day looks brutal…GC guys are going to suffer

    I was being sarcastic about picking Froome, BUT at only 9 points....

    The double Ventoux stage doesn't end on top. What a shame. Poor planning IMO, guys in the Armstrong podcast said something similar. Mountain stages that end with a decent are just subpar from a fan perspective, and it seems like the riders agree.

    Well, not surprising the riders agree…the screaming descent with cooked legs is a high wire act with the stopping power to match

    I’d rather end too in a place where, when i fall over, it’s not at 60mph on a cheese grater surface with cliffs to the side.

    As for the fan view, i dunno…the tv coverage is pretty good these days

    In person, no question…going up on a 8% ramp, they’re going slow enough to see

    For those who don't know the Armstrong Podcast (The Move) runs daily throughout the tour. Lance may be a douche but the guys on there know their shit and they can provide some interesting insight into the race. Just an FYI.

    With all the stages that finish with a descent, its hard to imagine Thomas or Porte surviving all of them to finish on the podium

    I didn't mean "perspective" as literally as you're seeming to take it, and you changed it to "fan view". Nothing to do with TV coverage or ability to see the riders. Just more exciting when the top of the last big climb is For The Win.

    And the fans will see them twice.

    It seems like this year’s route favors the bold over the big budgets of Jumbo, Ineos & UAE. These teams just grind everyone else to a pulp on the way up with sheer numbers.

    I’m not seeing any reports of riders bitching about the not ending on Ventoux. What did I miss?

    JPH said a descent finish was a missed opportunity & not as good as a summit finish. Podcast guys seemed to agree.

    Not sure then what you’re referring to [difference without a distinction, maybe?]…a fan perspective is based on the drama unfolding by watching it, no?

    And I don’t mean to pursue an argument, so sorry about that…! I just think the descents are pretty good viewing too. But I accept that that may be a new thing since we can see the race from the couch with good coverage these days…

    Good to see the race finally start.
    12 of us on the TGR team, and we can now see who everyone picked for today's stage.
    I'll made a list of TGR names vs Fantasy names.
    I noticed a few of you didn't pick your "Stage Winner Bonus" rider from your team of 8. You can change who your bonus rider is everyday, that rider gets you double the stage points that day. So if its a sprint stage I will choose Sagan as my "Stage Bonus Winner" and he earns me double points for that stage. And the next day when it's a mountain stage I'll switch my Stage Bonus Winner to Froome to get me double points. You can change the Stage Bonus Rider from your team of 8 as many times as you want, it does not cost any points/budget.

    FURIOUS PEDDLERS = :: :: (you did not pick a Stage Winner Bonus)
    DEE HUBBS = Dee Hubbs
    TGR SPANKY = Spanky (No Picks?)
    DOPED TO THE GILLS = Huckbucket
    TEAM EPO = EWG
    RIDING OFF TO GLORY = Garth Bimble
    FUCK YOU ASO = TBS
    KAT5 = Mrs Dee Hubbs
    KALISTO = Kalisto
    BENNEKE10 = Benneke10
    MOTOPSYCHA = Motopsycha
    JAYPOWHOUND = Jaypowhound (you did not pick a Stage Winner Bonus)

    Welcome to the Dee Hubbs excel analysis tour. We expect daily point totals with pivot tables and regressions so we can call a winner by the end of week one.

    Also, Mrs. DH is in this thing? I'm guessing she's a ringer and we're all doomed.

    I picked the reigning UCI world road champion to win today. Does that not show up when viewed by my soon-to-vanquished competitors?

    Show some respect, she's the defending champion.

    No picks for me. I logged in from my phone but didn’t have time to fumble around with picking a team. I’ll consider my entry the cost of my laziness.

    Maybe Froome wasn't such a good bargain after all.

    For the love of God this sport is cruel and dangerous. I can’t watch. Seriously.

    OK. I have a team now and my son's Peacock login... Don't call it a comeback!

    Don't call it a comeback, I been here for years
    I'm rockin' my peers, puttin' suckers in fear
    Makin' the tears rain down like a monsoon
    Listen to the bass go boom
    Explosions, overpowerin'
    Over the competition, I'm towerin'
    Wrecking shop, when I drop
    These lyrics that'll make you call the cops
    Don't you dare stare
    You better move, don't ever compare
    Me to the rest that'll all get sliced and diced
    Competition's payin' the price
    Because rich has nothing to do with money.
