    Vintage Ski Would Carbondale CO

Just stopped of and checked this place out. Was going to pick up some 230 speed skis they have there
I would say this place is a must see for anyone who is interested in ski history.
Thousands of vintage skis, boots, pins. You name it.
Here were some of my favorites.

I bought a pair of Machete McGs and Machete FBs that were sitting next to those Spatulas earlier this year. They were a pleasure to do business with!

FWIW, I asked about the Spatulas and offered to throw $1000 at them just because I'd ski them and love them and own them in Alaska. He said he really just wanted to hang on them as collectibles and didn't think he'd sell them. I let him know about the $3000 set that sold on eBay a few years ago, and he said he wouldn't sell them for $3K either, but if someone walked in with $5K he'd consider it.

New MSRP retail was $899 IIRC. I know there were many (most?) sold at steep discounts over the next two years. A buddy of mine ordered a new set on a whim after breaking a ski (not a Volant) at the end of the '03-'04 season. Shipped to Juneau, ordered online, they were $300; he figured that was a good deal and worth the risk of a ski he didn't know anything about. He obviously still has them and regularly gets offers to sell.

Had a pair of those Hexcelerators in HS; total noodles after a season but fun in bumps!
