Thread: What’s my bike worth?

Not sure what a fair price is, but I'd be really careful about buying a used carbon frame sight unseen. I bought a used carbon niner from a friend last summer. They pointed out potential frame damage. I took it to a carbon repair shop and the area in question was ok. But, they found two other spots on the frame that needed repair. Both spots looked like minor scuffs. Cost about $500 to repair.

Yeah, that's definitely a concern, but less of a concern with a XS, maybe?
I just realized it says "CC" on the chainstay, so it is the nicer frame. Seller has no sold items in their PB profile which gives me some pause.

$2200 seems a bit high for a 4 year old frame. That was probably a decent price last spring when prices were insane, but I think the market has crashed back to reality. Maybe $2200 if they threw in the fork.

That's kind of what I was thinking. I got the Altitude for $2,500 as a complete. If it were pristine the asking price would seem more reasonable, but it's not. I'm thinking of offering the guy $1,800-$1,900.

So not much traction on selling my one year old carbon cannondale. Has upgraded rear shock but single pivot. $2000? $1500? Much less and maybe just keep it since I have $500 into the shock

Utah?
Yeah, Utah. It's wedged in between Wyoming and Nevada. You've seen pictures of it, right?
So after 15 years we finally made it to Utah.....
Thanks BCSAR and POWMOW Ski Patrol for rescues

Desprately eyeing Smmokans GG Smash for sale.... So hoping to off-load my current ride but not sure whats realistic with prices coming down.
2018 Intense Primer expert build size large with upgrades:
2021 Lyrik ultimate 150 mm (recently serviced)
2020 DPX2 factory
New GX derailleur(10-52)
EX511 with DT 350 hub rear wheel
4-piston XT lever/SLX caliper brakes
780 mm vibricore bars/nukeproof 45 mm stem.
Bike has new bearings and rides well but defintely is scuffed and has the look of a bike that has been ridden frequently for the last few years. Tires (maxxis DHR DD/DHF exo+) cassette etc are all used but have plenty of life in them. 2000? Way off? Anyone interested??

^^^ No input on price but if you're looking for interest size always matters.

I'm looking to sell my old Ripmo AF frame with Topaz (Size S) after picking up a new revel frame and swapping parts. It's certainly not new with wear marks especially around the inside of the rear pivot where the tire kicks stuff up but nothing beyond cosmetic. Anyone have any input? The recent sales and re-branding make it a bit hard to figure out. Looks like a new one is $1600 now but not may used ones to compare to.

I’m zero help on what that is worth, but that is a great looking whip and I’m a little jealous for it

Do you still have the old shock? If so put that back on, drop the price and sell the upgraded shock separately.
With supply chain recovering for some items and even sale prices on some bikes/frames MTBers have returned to their neurotic ways being painfully finicky about everything.

My wife is hopefully upgrading from a 2017 5010 to a Maverick/Hightower. Trying to get a feel for what we might get by selling off her old one.
2017 santa cruz 5010 size small.
Frame: No dents or big crashes. Paint has taken a beating so has scrapes with touch-up paint on the frame in multiple spots and the fork leg.
GX eagle 11-speed drivetrain (working very well, has chain and cassette life left)
Sram guide brakes.
One-up v2 dropper 150 mm
Basic aluminum race-face wheels, maxxis agressor 2.3 mm rear, DHR 2.4 front. Medium life left
Fox 34 performanc elite front fork, travel changed to 140. Serviced last year
Fox evol DPS rear. No issues but not freshly serviced.
It's been a great bike for her and continues to ride well mechanically, but has been ridden a good amount. Hopefully it will be a good bike for someone looking to get going for a reasonable cost of entry.
Thoughts?
Thanks!

Despite being 6 years old it still sounds like a decent trail bike with a decent fork and good name recognition. $1500 might be a good starting point
edit: my mind is thinking in fake Canadian monopoly money so probably lower in USDLast edited by McShortyShorts; 05-19-2023 at 07:19 PM. Reason: dumb hoser

That's going to be a nice bike for some teenager. Unfortunately, that means price accordingly.

Thanks for the input! That makes sense. If we can get close to 1200 for it that will really take the sting out of the new build. Sounds like that’s a reasonable place to start.
